This car is a number matching 442. Engine stamped 31R104781 (3= Oldsmobile 1= 1971 R= Arlington 104781= sequential VIN number) I rebuilt the engine less than 2500 miles ago using 1970 spec pistons (advertised 10:1) .040 over and the compression calculated to 9.63:1. Crank is N cast .010/.010. All casted engine parts are original and are date coded properly. Mondello oiling system upgrades. Transmission is correct OG coded. Rear end is coded SRB 240 1.

This car has only lived in Texas and Arizona it sat from 1980 until I bought it in 2000. It has a small amount of rust at the bases of the roof pillars and the body is in need of work. A lot of dents and bangs in the body panels but NO RUST. No rust on the frame or underbody. The hood, roof and trunk lid are straight. The interior needs restored as the AZ heat has taken its toll. The dash has always been covered and is fine though.
I have an AM radio that is possibly the original as it was in the trunk when I bought the car. (The dash was not cut for the existing stereo). I also have the original air cleaner assembly, the Fisher Body 1971 service manual, a 1971 Oldsmobile Chassis service manual, and a fast ratio power steering gearbox out of a 1970 GTO that all goes with it. I have yet to locate any build sheets, but I may drop the fuel tank to look there.

I drive this car regularly to work and around town. It runs on an HEI but I have the original distributor.

I have a set of 2 older Rallye 3's and 2 of the correct rallye 3's and a set of 73 15 inch Rally 3's that go with it. It runs on plain Jane steel wheels right now.

BMT and Hltoppr can both attest to the performance of this car. I will store for 60 days or so to help the buyer out. I can also assist in arranging shipping. If you are close (AZ, SoCal,UT,CO,NV,N.M.) I may be able to deliver it on my own.(added fee). I will be taking the car to Phoenix on the weekend of January 6th to try to sell while Barrett-Jackson is in town.

Dave
