Progress has slowed considerably with all the shut-downs, but I'm still hunting for some parts. If anybody has one of these FJ25 flasher assemblies I posted a wanted ad for one, please let me know! Mark and I are working on the design/layout for the semaphore portion of the harness, hoping we can find one of these for the other signals.

Also finally got the 6 terminal light switch. Here’s a comparison with the 5 terminal one. It’s marked “BJ25 LWS” and the terminals are RR, RF, LF, LR, F, and SS. EDIT - turns out this is the rare dash mounted turn switch with a light knob on it, see next post.

@Coolerman pointed out that this is labeled somewhat like a hazard or turn switch. Also it has only 3 positions on the switch vs the 4 on the normal 5 terminal switch. Made me scratch my head then I thought hey maybe it’s that dash mounted turn switch like @Indygbd has for his 58 - checked his thread (which has great photos, thanks Gabe!) and the back matches. So it looks like this is actually the dash turn switch with a headlight knob attached to it! Talk about dumb luck. Makes me wonder did a 6 terminal headlight switch ever exist or has this always been what the 6 terminal switch was? The terminal pattern matches the two other photos of the 6-terminal that I'd ever seen, so I suspect there never has been an early light switch with anything but 5 terminals.

now I just have to see if I can find or reproduce the knob. And give up on finding a 6 terminal headlight switch that likely never existed.

Below is a picture of NOS with its original box. These 6 post switches were labeled as “Switch Safety”, so it could be blinker / hazard related. Nathan could you please confirm how many positions it rotates?

It's only got 3 positions, I assume left/off/right blinkers? Do you have a photo of the rear of that one to see the markings? That one does appear to have the LIGHT knob on it, but I suppose that could have been swapped onto it like mine was? Odd thing to do to a NOS part though.

I don’t have any other picture of it. May be @Trollhole can provide some more information.

Nathan, you weren't kidding about the welding. I've got 2 aprons in perfect condition but they're off my '75 FJ40. They'll fit, but the support bracket on the inside is slightly different. You may have to drill 2 new holes to bolt that bracket. The only thing I can think of that might be a problem is the hood hold downs where in a different location on the 25 than the 40 due to the air intake screen on the 25 apron. The hold down is about 1" closer to the cab on the 25. By looking at your pics I think they'll be good but you'll have to hold them under your hood to see if they line up.. You also have to drill new holes for the emblem. If I remember correctly I filled the emblem holes on these aprons.View attachment 2203039 I can send them out today with the fenders and if they don't work out you can send them back as we exchange parts.

Best cruiser pose ever. My all time favourite.

Started working on separating the chassis today so we could start getting it cleaned up, body mounts straightened out, etc and then powder coated. Had not really thought about the differentials until now (and I've actually never done any work on the differentials on any of my past cruisers) but called around and there's a place with a pretty good reputation in Phoenix that said if we can drop them off, they'll turn them around pretty quickly but we would need to supply all the materials. Started my search on SOR as usual but thought I'd ask here - anybody go through this process yet, any recommendation on whose kit to use? As usual on SOR it seems like you have to buy the kit as well as a few pieces here and there. I don't want to drop these off and be missing any materials they need.

Any advice appreciated!

I'd call Cruiser Outfitters.
