There was just a thread here not too long ago that had a link to a set of custom steel wheels. It was kind of funny when folks were making comments on how expensive they were ( : I mean, this is the 100 section ( : Our tags rival 540's and two year old 996's.

Hey Juke -

I've got a model year 1973 wife as well. Just about to buy a 2005 daughter. Should be delivered at the dealership in about one month, fully loaded. Won't be ready for Rubithon this year, unfortunately.

I will be getting a Peg Perego Gaucho (AKA 40 Series) sometime down the line. And no, this is not a post count pad...

;)

My 100 (2000) came with 16X8`s with some nice Michelin a/t`s , and I popped on a set of `04 18X8`s with the factory dunlops, and I must admit, the 18`s seemed nearly as capable (with the 18`s I can still out-wheel MANY other 4X4s, in fact nobody can believe I am climbing the things I do with 60 series performance tires !!) and in MOST conditions they are awesome ...I say most conditions because In mild (8" or so) of snow they actually gripped better and were more predictable, But....

In deep sand and mud, they (rims) become PADDLES !! The short sidewalls are quickly eaten up and your rims are now "submerged" in the muck.... makes for an interesting look once you get on pavement though...Dont get me wrong, the 18`s with OE or better rubber (perhaps a 33X18) work incredibly well, The big issue is (as previously stated) is that the sidewall is very easy to puncture and pinch on rocks...It is obvious that it is the vehicle design that makes the stock 18`s perform as well as they do !!

BTW...I am switching back to my 16`s with 33" Toyo MT`s soon because of the type of wheeling I do......and I will keep my 18`s with snow tires for winter !!

I also have several sets of NEW factory 18`s with the Dunlops already mounted that I will be listing in the near future, if anyone is interested keep an eye on the "for sale" section of the forum..

Man, I was following the vehicle analogy but you have me lost on the Peg thing and even more so on how this applies to wheel choice.

HMM...After seeing that ad for the hopped up "PEG-40" (and its an all electric model instead of a gas/elec hybrid !)...I am considering trading my 100 in for the open top w/some nice wheels !!

I cant believe that it comes standard with the racing harnesses too !!

Toyota is in big trouble with its F/J Cruiser if anyone finds out about the PEG !!
