Remove running boards and a mild OME lift next? She’s only got 95k! Otherwise new tires are less noticeable than Ko2’s and ride super smooth. Got around 60k on last set of Ko2’s usually get 50k,very good wear, also ko3’s are also rated at 60k!
We have next to no snow here but gets very wet and slippery. Ko’s do good for all our trucks year round. Always get 50k + mileage, Been running BFG’s forever.here theyre pretty much snow truck tires only, i run ko2 on my tundra for winter
Ha yea rboards suck but the wife likes them! 1st thing I did when we got our 80, 100 and our old 2000 4Runner! The 14 is a DD for her and rarely sees dirt, But we’ve had it on some nice mild trails in Moab, Wy., Mt.,Nv. And here in Ca. Tahoe mostly!Yes, one of the best no cost modifications you can do! Get rid of the low hanging plastic POSs while you are at it!

Sounds good, but I’ve always been a fan of OME lifts. Mild for sure, Since it’s coming up on 100k be nice to upgrade suspension. Just don’t want to tip the scales and get into it too much. I’ll do more research, I want a nice ride and not looking for anything heavy as it’ll be close to stock w no bolt on goodies!ditch the running boards, throw on some 1.5" spacers, and a mild lift - would totally change up the look
Hey nice glad you’re getting out there! Yea we’ve always run Ko2’s and it was just the right timing for new tires. I ordered from Tire rack, direct free shipping to local tire shop. Beat their price big time and they only charged me 95$ for installing. I even had them save my old best Ko2 of same size(one size up from stock) for a matching spare. Guy was all huffy saying it wouldn’t fit and he’d charge me 40$ extra to try it on and if it didn’t fit another 40$! Ha we said no just give me the old tire and I’ll deal w it. They ended up installing old ko2 for the spare and it fit no problem no extra charge!KO3’s haven’t come out yet in my part of the world. I’m still running KO2’s, but they do well. No ice or snow to speak of. Just lot’s of sharp rocks, corrugated dirt, sand, roots/thorns, and pot holes. I’m excited for them to get released though. Done all the reading. BFG really seemed to have done a great job on the KO3’s. Even had continual KO3 development so that the public release tire is better than the OEM tire that came out earlier on.
Not sure what kind of wheeling you’ll do, but I kept my running boards on. Granted mine are aluminum, they do give a buffer between the rocker panel and the ground. I’m not doing heavy rock crawling, though I do some, but with a 2” lift up front and a 1” lift in the rear, I steer clear of most things.
Can't go wrong with any OME! That is the cream of the crop there...good luck!Sounds good, but I’ve always been a fan of OME lifts.
