1/18/09 Borrego interest?

This weather is calling me and the 40. I was thinking of going out to Borrego this Saturday evening, camping, having breakfast in town Sunday morning ***1/18/09*** and exploring trails the rest of the day. Anyone interested?

Hi Ed,

Possible, but not looking too good at the moment. I have a lot going on saturday and it may carry into Sunday.

You want to carpool next weekend to the shindig at Dom's? I could meet you in town at the Swing Inn for breakfast;)

If ya do go - have fun

I was just in Borrego. I'll go back this weekend if you put something together.

My plan: Leave to Borrego Saturday night after my son's wrestling tournament (3-5?). Eat dinner on the way out. Camp a Palm Canyon (fire, beer). Sunday morning coffee and burrito run to town. Explore some trails. Go home or Maybe stay 'til Monday (MLK day off).

If no other interest than same plan but with my wife, 4yr old and 2 teenage boys and off-roading in a Yukon.

Either way...Good Times:D

Doesn't look like there is much interest. Have fun with the family.

I think I'm going to take a look at some of those Fj40's I sent you. Maybe I'll end up buying one and have it for the next trip. You have my email, send me one the next time the trails are calling you - I like beer and fire.

I will. Don't buy the first one you see..resist the urge. :hhmm:

Did you guys end up going? I was there on the 18th!!! I was with 4 other trucks, 1 Fj80, a Tacoma, Jeep Cherokee and a Chevy Blazer. I had my 4runner.

We did Rodriguez canyon, then over to the mudcaves, Diablo dropoff, sandstone, etc.

Were you in the FJ-40? I didn't see any so I guess we missed you.

Yes, we went...but the wife opt'd out and my brother, 2 nephews, and 3 boys went. No FJ40, we were in a White Yukon and camped Sat night near the 2nd water crossing at Coyote Cyn. Sunday we hit the Discovery Center, Jalibertos (or whatever), Font's point, Elephant tree trail, and fish creek a little past the wind caves. We had a blast. I saw 2 FJ40's one was a two-tone orange/white near truckhaven and a green one being trailered near Ocotillo. Gotta love that weather.
