Love mine, now just waiting on the extinguisher to arrive.

I didn't follow the directions—that front plastic piece is flexible enough to work a socket on an extension in there to get to the bolts, and just flexible enough to slide the mount in. 15 minutes total, if you spend the first 5 figuring out how it goes.

What extinguisher did you order? Have a link? Thanks!

I got the Element. I've had just a standard Kidde marine unit for several years, but the Element looks just as useful, less mess to clean up should something ever happen, and its size is tiny in comparison.

I got mine from @LC4LIFE. There's a thread on them here: Element Fire Extinguisher

Did you order 1 or 2? Id be curious if you could squeeze 2 of those on one bracket.

@badlander was able to get a 5lbs fire extinguisher (about 10lbs total) on the mount. Thanks for sharing the photos with me!

Appears to be amerex halatron 5lbs bottle. I think the ORS quick release is no longer made.
Correct, Amerex 5lb Halatron. I have a call in to ORS in an attempt to purchase a second mount but have not heard anything back yet. Their website is inoperative now. Pity as the quick release mount is top notch.

Nice, at least give me some credit next time.

I'm sorry that you feel I stole your design. That's definitely not the case and I would be happy to have that discussion off of this thread! Anyway, your product looks great too. It's always great to have more options for the community. Maybe next year we can do some combined giveaways at HIH10!

Good luck and congrats on becoming a vendor!

As a customer, I buy what I see. If I don't know a product exists, how can I buy it?

And yes, before my owl purchase, I did numerous searches on mud, cruisergarage's offering never appeared (at least what I recall). I probably would have purchased if I had known.

There are a ton of great ideas out there. Seems like case of marketing....

Anyone know what size bolt it is that is under the seat (the one the mount uses)? My driver's side one was rounded off (guess previous owner did something) and I can't remove it without destroying it. Will need a replacement in order to install the driver's side. The passenger side is installed already and I love the mount!

Hey Gary! Sorry for the delay. It's been a crazy one.

That sucks about the bolt. Hopefully it's not so far gone you can't get it out easily.

As for the size, it's an M8-1.25 x 20mm

Most M8,s have 12mm heads, if that helps.....

THANKS! Not sure how the bolt got rounded off. Wondering if the previous owner did something with the seats at some point. They have original leather as far as I can tell. Anyway, I've got the bits to remove the bolt, but will need that replacement. I'll swing by Fastenall today and pick one up.

My FE is mounted in the rear, no boxes back there as I run an overlanding trailer. Pouch next to the gear shift is just there with velcro, holds a bandana, pepper spray and my work ID, and the organizer on the visor is from Blue Ridge overland gear, local business making nylon gear.
