Hi,
My alternator in my 1998 land cruiser is failing, so I tried to replace it with a 100 amp from an LX470. It's a bit larger (1/2 inch or so) and has two extra threaded bosses that my 80 amp one doesn't have. It's Denso reman'd alternator.
My question is, has anyone else done this and was it plug and play? Currently, it doesn't fit into the hole that the 80 amp came out of (from under the truck). I'd rather not make any wiring changes to make it work, but if I need to remove more parts to make it fit, I'm OK with that.
Also, my alternator plug got a bit mauled removing it. Does anyone know off hand if there's a plug repair available (Toyota or otherwise) or if a whole harness is needed?
Thanks,
Marc
