Going to try and see if I can BeBe to pass inspection on Monday to get her registered. If I can then we will be there.

Anyone know what they check for the safety inspection?

Having dealt w/ the inspectors at the DMV in Reno... I'd go to Carson. They can and typically will be pricks just because they can.
The tried to eff w/ me and they gave my buddy a SUPER hard time when he tried to reg. his rig from cal.
After MONTHS of trying to appease them, he finally took it to CC and the wrote him right up.

Just a though if you have ANY question as to wether or not Bebe will make it through.

I just transferred my rig form CA to Douglas county NV. They looked at my VIN tag, took my money, and gave me plates.
Things differ by county I'm sure.

Good to know. Hopefully my experience will be like bigs! If nothing else I am headed to the DMV to get her plates and see if I can schedule an appt tomorrow morning. Wife has class and I am off on Mondays so that will be my major alone day to get work done on her.

Check your local county regs first.
Also, print up and fill out ALL needed forms in advance. It will make your time at the DMV much easier.

Sweet that was easy!! Went in and talked to someone and they gave me the low down. Got the cruiser from the house with proof of insurance, title, and filled out registration form. Went to the VIN inspection station, gave the woman the title, she checked my ID against the name on the title, checked the VIN, and did a once around. Went into her little office and came out a few minutes later with the VIN Inspection form. Then went and told the ladies at the front desk I was there to register and had everything and was told I needed an E-Code ticket. Sat down and was literally called, helped, got my new plates (customs that I ordered a few weeks back) and registered and was ready to go. It took me longer to drill out the rusted bolts for the rear license plate and get new bolts in and a new nut then it did to get her registered.

So looks like I will see you all there next week!!

Great stuff man!!
Nothing better than a legal cruiser!! :)
They can be real BALL BUSTERS over there!!!
Glad it was smooth for you!

Ok so how long to the meetings normally run? I work 4-10s so I dont get off until 6pm and add to that the 30 minutes drive from Carson. If I leave straight from work I can probably be there by 6:45ish?

They start at 630 and we usually start walking out around 730 w/ the BS and lies portion of the meeting. :)

Damn no dice... work is having me stay late (been in a meeting since 8am about Health Care Reform) and going to go long. Then hitting up my other job (IT Support/Consulting) for a client in need.. bugger oh well, next month it is.

Obviously I missed the meeting. Got back from Calif to late. So what transpired? Anyone able to take the minutes?

Mike

Mike,
We had two new visitors, discussed a run to high rock on nov 3rd or the 10th which is posted on the main page for poll of which weekend would be better.
Shawn wrote a check for our BRC membership and I sent it in.
Discussed some land use meetings one of which is a FS meeting for route designation (stickied here) and three meetings re. The closed eldorado trail (also stickied here)
It was:
Shawn
Mark w
Paul and his wife
Myself
And two visitors (don't recall the names...sorry)

Oh... And the usual BS and lies segment of the meeting!! :)
