1 or 2 day trips in the area

Hey guys,

I feel like I'm just oozing with enthusiasm here, and this cabin fever is not helping. Does anyone have any ideas for 1 or 2 day trips in the Area, can be camping, or a drive that you have done or even heard of.

My setup is light w/out a Winch, or MTRs, or Lift on the unit.

For back country stuff a nice drive is to take the trunk road. It's a perfect sticker run.

I'd head out to Edson. Then south on the 40. Pass by cadomin and end up nordegg area. Then choose your route home. Loop could be done in a day and is a pretty drive at times.

Yep thats the one. This summer the Canadian Clunker Classic was held along that road from the crows nest pass all the way to Grand Cache for some of us. A fantastic trip with great folks and beautiful country. There estimation of 2 days could be a little aggressive depending on just how far your wanting to go though. My favourite section is highway 1a up to Nordegg.

is this doable in the winter? My gf says she's been on this road, and it would not be doable in the winter... who knows?

I think later in the winter it would be rough but snowfall has been minimal. Never know til ya try

A good chunk of it south from Edson is grated for oil/gas and forestry. With the weather we have been having some spots are a touch slick but overall pretty good.
