Well the dealer says the Supercharger makes alot of noise. Anyone done one? Is it really that bad? I can live with a little noise but will it drive you crazy?
Can you change the pulley and how much boost is safe?

no the noise isnt loud at normal drving. when you step on it it gets a whine to it, its kind if like a cold air intake quite at normal driving and gets throaty when you step on it. they give you a card that says that it will make some noises just to keep people from taking in for warranty concerns that are normal

need more information about supercharger for the FJC...really...

The one that Woody's trail team has on the Tacoma was surprisingly quiet.

NOISE...sure it isn't sweet music...

is there any seat of the pants numbers or comments on how much of a difference it makes in horsepower and ability to help our trucks move the bigger tires and perform on both highway and offroad?

the owner of the dealer can smoke the 35x13.50 toyos with his supercharger plus it digs great in the snow. we were up in about 3 feet of it 3 weeks ago went awesome but he drives foot to the floor. when i was reading the install book for my father fjc i want to say it was like 65hp more than stock and that was to the ground.

Mine dyno'd on the Mustang Dynamometer:
259 HP (stock 180)
273 Ft/Lbs (stock 204)
Results in 4 wheel drive on a machine they call "The Heartbreaker' as the results are not amped up, but rather a true expression of the vehicles output.

And yes, I can smoke my 35's too!

what kind of a difference does it make in gas mileage though?

Yeah, that's what I read at the dealer I think. Or was it 245 HP 278 lb.ft. of torque? As for the noise? Well I'd say it would be sweet music! but what about the MPG? Any improvement?

Woodeye

I believe that is the dyno's rear wheel numbers.

Dealer specs show hp & Torque at the crank (imagine an engine on a stand),
Mustang dyno shows the hp & toque at the wheels in 4 wheel drive. the #'s for stock vehicle were off the shops own FJC.

Milage is a slight drop, but it has alot to do with the fun factor.

my father is getting 20 mpg freeway with his and its been on for 8,000 miles

How about in a manual Trans?

Prob buying an FJ tomorrow. Really need to know if there are any particular engine related short/long term problems w/ sticking one in an FJ w/ a manual Tranny.

Anyone have one in an FJ w/ a manual tranny?

My Scanguage horsepower gauge peaks at about 280-290. That's with a free-flow system exhaust, cai, urd y-pipe, and a couple other goodies...no sc though.
