Hi all,

I am trying to diagnose in real time what is wrong with my mom's 05 Sienna. Both lowbeam headlights are out, but the high beams still function. I am going to run to the auto parts store to see if there is an error code or if she needs to replace both headlights or not?

I would appreciate any help. My guess is replace both headlights, since the vehicle is 4 years old.

Thanks,

Mark

did you try replacing the bulbs? that usually does the trick. although when the :princess: '04 sienna's headlamp went out, i went to change the bulb, but it didnt look burnt out. so i checked the all the fuses etc, and they were all good. went to change the bulb...and viola. fixed.

Hi,

I just came back from Advance Auto and checked the codes, no codes flashed on the scanner. So its bulb replacement time. I always like to find out as much info before blowing cash on stuff.

Mission accomplished, we got the bulbs replaced and everything works. I did forget to get power steering fluid for the Sienna, but Ill take care of that myself when I get home from church this evening.

Thanks for everything.

Mark

One last thing on the Sienna-I think the early headlights were defective-one of those silent recall things. I went in and complained ours would fog on the inside. Tech said "we'll look at it". Got the car back a few hours later--"we replaced both headlight assemblies for you sir-no charge"

Anyway, you might check into that. Since ours were replaced there hasn't been a single issue of condensation inside the lamp, so I do think thee was a defect and Toyota knows about it.
