Long lived Toyota guy here. I’ve been wheeling Toyota’s since the mid 90’s. Been through a lot of them. Trucks, 4runners and Cruisers. In 2010 my wife said her co-worker was selling her LX470 for a great price! I was stoked. Then she brought it home... It was not an LX??? It was a GX. I’m my mind at the time it was the red headed stepchild of the Lexus land cruiser. What a disappointment!
Anyway, I grew to love it. I’ve been doing light wheeling in it for years. Most recently wheeled in Tuolumne county near Yosemite and the thing performed terrible. The control arms sounded like pots and pans being smashed together, the shocks are all blown, and the airbag system has a leak.
Upgrades are long overdue.
Eibach pro truck kit and upper control arms should be here later today. Already replaced the KDSS bushings.
Plans are a Coastal Off-road front and custom rear bumper.
Picked up some Nitto Trail Grapplers today.
And so it begins...
