We had some issues with the fuel level indicator not being right - not showing full after fill-up, dropping 1/4 tank in 10 miles, and the like. Some searching around here yielded info pointing to low battery voltage as a potential culprit. Measuring seems to rule that out (13.6V at idle), but in the course I noticed copper sulphate deposition at the negative terminal. I cleaned that up, and that seemed to have helped with the original issue.
In that process, I looked at the battery: NAPA 36R, marked 'Nov' and '7', 650 CCA rating, and a lot of washers to make battery hold-down work
No records from PO on battery replacement, and no hints on being lame, either.
I then tried to look into the GX owner's manual as well as the GX FSM to find stock battery specs - no entries under 'battery' (that doesn't appear in the index), and nothing under 'starting & charging', except for the target voltage and the term 'maintenance free'. Checking parts stores point to 27F or 24F. Searching Mud is of no help because all the threads are about what's the biggest battery that can squeeze in there, and I don't want to do that. Most of our other vehicles are now on X2's from BatteriesPlus, but I'm not feeling it just right now - I know I'm on the clock, though. I could ask Lexus, but I first thought I'd ask here what the stock battery size is. Thanks for the help - michael
