Well while coming home from work today the check engine light, vsc trac light, and vsc off light all came on. So I went over to autozone to have the code pulled and it came up with a p0440 or gas cap not on tight. Thought that was funny but said ok and undid the cap and put it back on but the light was still on. The car still ran great and operated great but those three lights were still on. Went home and pulled the neg batery terminal to reset the code, wait 3 mins and reconect the terminal. I went to start the car and it starts fine goes up to 1k rpm but then drops all the way down and dies. I can press the gas pedal and it will rev up fine but whenever I let off the gas it wont idle and just dies. Any idea on sensors or is something up with the computer?

Unsure but my GM truck chucks this code and it's because the vent for the fuel tank gets clogged up with mud.
Does it idle down/stall if you leave the fuel cap off?

yes it does. Left it sitting for a couple of hours and went out to start it and it ran for about 5 mins and then shut off again, and now when I try to start it its back to going to 1k rpms and then stalling right away. Starting to think it may be a icv valve stuck or failed but unsure of whether these have them or not?

on the bright side it does it consistantly and quickly so a toyota dealership who has an older experienced tech should be able to nail it down quickly.
Not sure if its like my cruiser, it would need a few start cycles to relearn a good idle setting.
