I finally got to replacing my engine mounts, but on my first test drive a fuse link popped (battery terminal - black to white).
Got the new fuse link in today, but there is a nasty short. Started disconnecting my ignition switch and alternator, but still no luck.
I have removed all the fuses...
I’m putting my engine back together, (1994) and Im waffling on putting the EGR back on. It’s disabled either way, but I’d love to just put the block off plates on the head and intake for a number of reasons. Since we are all over 25 years now, the reg says we get just a “safety” inspection, but...
So took my FJ40 (1982) for a cruise around Toronto.
At a stop; I noticed an oil leak; it was a little more than just a few drops.... so it was concerning. Traced the oil to the 2nd spark plug. At least, that was the only wet oil stain that aligned with the oil on the floor.
Checked the...

I have a 3FE long block I need out of my way. Came out of an early 88 based on the numbers. I kept the head for my future 2FE project. I know nothing about this engine. Free to anyone that picks it up in Spokane, WA, though I could be haggled with to accept more: I have a hoist to load. Has the...
Hi, I have a 92 3fe and I am struggling to find why my engine stumbles. My emissions reads to much carbon monoxide......92 over 25. It came down from 150 over 25. I am saying is it should be 25. Denver Colorado

I've got a complete B engine with bellhousing and clutch for sale. Assuming it came from a BJ40 of some year, it is a European engine. I got it for a project a few years ago, purged the air and started it right up with no issues. I then pickled it with transmission fluid and its just been...
Greeting All:
I need to get some 2F engine number for US Spec Cruisers built in Jan of 1982. My engine number matrix pictured below has starting number for 1982 that is very likely an error. I'm guessing the numbers were transposed somehow. I would like to correct it.
So if you have a Cruiser...
Would anyone know where to find the engine number plate on a 1988 LJ70 LC? The VIN number plate is on the back of the engine compartment, but I am having trouble finding the engine number.
Thanks
I’m in need of a useable 2F camshaft. I had mine reground by Delta Cams, and we’ve been having an issue with one of the lobes having a considerably smaller base circle than the rest. It’s causing major difficulties with valve lash and noise.
Welding the entire lobe isn’t really an option due...
1992 FJ80 3FE block which has been cleaned and inspected, .014" wear (worst) to cylinders with some pitting from sitting, machinist stated that .030" would clean her up. Purchased this LC with the engine pulled (complete/not opened up) last fall. She's nice and rust free but PO stated she was...
I have for sale a new 1FZ Engine Wiring Harness for the 80-series. This is the entire engine harness needed for the production date 01/1995-01/1998 1FZ Land Cruisers with OBD2 system. Bought it a few years ago (never installed) and ended up doing a Diesel conversion instead.

I purchased this vehicle in the late 90's. Over the years I have changed it to a 5.7 Liter (350) chevy engine and automatic transmission. Also added Dana 60 axle with disk brakes in rear. The front axle is a Dana 50. They also have ARB air lockers and 37 inch Goodyear Wrangler tires. An Atlas...
Hello, I have a 74 fj40 with an F engine. It has turned the odometer numerous times but still runs fair. I live in a remote location and a 77 fj40 F2 with only 110,000miles is available. Wondering:
1. is it worth getting for parts for the F?
2. how much adapting would be needed for a switch-out...
ie. can any 1hz be swapped for any other 1hz?
Are there any design differences on the later 1hz's (such as the ones Toyota still makes for 79's in some markets) compared to really early ones like the 1hz in my 80 from the factory in march 1992?
