I realize the correct way to measure for what I need and yes I am taking a shortcut but I know somebody has went this very route and has the answer. I have a new never used set of 4" Downey springs that are going on my 79 fj40. I am intending on putting a set of Bilstein shocks with this setup...
Looking for approximately 2.5 inches of lift for mostly city driving with a couple trips a year down to Moab.
Originally planing on going for the Old Man Emu 2.5 inch kit but the further I dig in the more concern I have about the quality of the dampers. Not ragging on them by any means but...
Hello everyone,
I purchased and mounted these shocks on my 1988 FJ62 but ended up going with a suspension lift which came with new shocks. They are intended for a stock height FJ62 and are unused. Asking $200 plus shipping for all 4. Over $300 new for all 4. I am located in Seattle, WA.
Considering the Bilsteins for the upcoming shock replacement... but... the OEM shocks are better for my budget. so-
I did some searching and have come up with a few basic differences based on this thread:
Bilstein vs. OEM Shocks
Seems that the Bilsteins provide a more "confident" ride, but...
New here so please forgive me if this isn't the right place to post this. Just want to share this steal of a deal!! Installed this set on my 2000 this weekend.

----Background----
Just installed Bilstein 4600's on all 4 this weekend. Picked them up from 4 Wheel Parts in AZ for 279 out the door. First time doing shocks by myself - if I can do it anyone can! My Hundy...
I have a barely used set of 14" travel Bilstein shocks. They are the eye-to-eye shocks common on FJ40s. They got less than a thousand miles on them and are in the boxes ready to ship. I had these for sale before but the sale fell through.
Asking $100 shipped.
My 2009 GX470 has 17 x 7.5 stock rims, and is getting a "leveling lift" with new bilsteins.
I need to replace the tires and would like to go larger, and was wondering how large I could go with the stock rims?
Thanks!!
So my 215k mi 1999 100-series is in the shop for repairs (Help Please - 'Broke' 4-High During Extraction from Snow Bank). So while its in the shop's hands, I want to take the opportunity to address the aging suspension and at the very least, replace the desperately-in-need-of-replacement...
Hey guys. Just wanted to let everyone know I just posted a Brand New pair Bilstein 6112 coilovers in the classifieds for 4Runner and GX470. I ordered these and decided to go big with ICON. $$$ I bought them from Chas at Moore Racing. My loss is your gain.
For Sale: - BNIB: Updated Model...
These are the new 47-260153 Bilstein 2.5" front coil-overs for 4th Gen 4Runners and the GX470.
They come with 600# springs and are 0-3" lift. They come with more cir-clip settings every 1/4" now instead of 1/2" in case you want to correct for driver's side lean on a 4runner without needing a...
Front and rear shocks off my 78 HJ45. Truck did not run, but the PO put these shocks and some crazy fuel wheels on the truck. I pulled them off because I am doing a lift and will run the longer mounts in the front. I am not 100% what these will fit, but I have posted a front and rear part # in...
So my Cruiser rides really rough. I understand its not going to ride like a Cadillac, but I have to imagine it could be better. I'm guessing it has a 2" lift, but I haven't tried to verify that. There are no discernible markings on the springs. The shocks are Rancho 5113 in front and 5116 in...
I searched the forums and didn't see anyone with this issue on an 80 series.
The shocks (Bilstein) and springs (OME) are brand new, but I never noticed any lean with OEM shocks/springs. Any ideas what the issue could be or how I could correct it?
Hello all this is my first post here.
I've got a 2004 Tacoma Prerunner base with the 2.7. Its my little single cab work truck and its been one of the best choices I've ever made.
It's just hit 140,000 relatively uneventful miles. I've owned it for the last 25,000 and I've noticed that the ride...
So my 03 TRD need shocks. And I have been searching the Bilstein 5100s. It seems like a great way to go. Especially if you want a little lift without any major modifications. I've looked at a few sites like bilsteiinlifts.com, but I think I can do better buying individual parts on my own. I plan...
