Looking for a set of grey, rear seat, retractable shoulder seat belts from a FJ62 to install into my HJ61. Would consider the conversion kit if the price is right.

I'm located in Powell River, BC, Canada.

(Yes my pillars have the threaded hole, but the attachment point behind the rear seat looks nothing like a FJ60 or FJ62)

check Sor cruiser parts, I got retracting seat belts to install in my bj60, they are a bit of fabrication. I had to cut the hole bigger where the retractor would sit. I welded a think plate in there and I will bolt it in there.

but the pictures SOR shows on their web site may help ya.

PM me if you need any more detail. I can give you the yota part number for my FJ62 seatbelts....

heres the hole.
I had the earlier model hole. I have enlarged the hole and put a doubler plate on it. welded all around.

next I will make a nut plate with the 12mm nuts in behind weled to a 1/8 thick plate, so all the load may be transfered.

the interior will be mod'ed I will take an opening from some from of tan interior vehicle and attach it to the side skirt on my panel. I hope to get a stock look. \\

which cut out are you?

None. HJ61 (JDMs at least) have nothing cut out there.

I've looked at the SOR site and have the same pic saved on my drive, but dang, 62.83USD x2 + shipping&handling+GST+duty gets up there a ways...

Might have to cave when the kids outgrow the carseats...

we;ve installed a few here at the shop. just buy new ones from the dealer, they're not that expensive.

no cut out? post a pic of behind your panel, I would like to see what yours looks like.

fj62 seat belts will be cheaper from yota than SOR.

here ya go... I didn't want to take out the camping kit or the car seat to remove the panel fully, so it's just a peek view from the seat side on the right hand side...

ok, wow that is much different. fn yota!

so IMOP I would go to the non retracting shoulder harness. The ones sor sells. basically you use only the threaded hole uptop and your only retracting part is the new lap belt, the shoulder harness part you manually adjust. like the first stlye shoulder belts in many 70's cars or older.

other option buy fj62 retracting rear belts. and make a cut out for the mechanism. then the structural integrity has to be installed(big doubler, thick steel all the way around) weld in a couple high grade nuts and your set.

I am doing the later. I cut the whole bigger much like seen in the upper pic. I welded a plate all around. and I will use a large piece of angle iron in behind. I am making it waay beefier than the front seatbelt mounts.

i can grab you a set from the wreckers if u want, I grabbed a set from an 80's cressida back seat, haven't put them in yet but will now that I know theres a hole there(thx BB)
my truck has the hole like BB's but these units mount externally, so was just going to fab a plate to beef up the mount
i'll take a pik of them tomorrow

Never thought of looking in other Toyotas. But I'm locked in here. Only one wrecker in town. Otherwise I'm catching a ferry.

I trade for Salmon!!
have a big autowrecker close to my shop
