Wes,

How soon you lookin? I was going to order mine tomorrow...maybe ENS will come down a bit if we order 2? I'm also going to do the clutch fan conversion to a straight fan...got tlcruiserman workin on that for me. gotta get this thing cooling right for the trip to CM05

What was the cost again? Tomorrow is probably a bit soon for me though.I looked at remanning mine.. it's been done before so I figure I might look at new and might as well be a 4 core. I really need to finish this turbo project first wich really might help my cooling.

Whoa, Brett. It will bolt in, but the HZJ75 radiator has the lower outlet on the wrong side for the 3B.

Look up Chad Davis's phone number and he can put a 4 row core on your radiator core for about $400.

I ordered a 4 row rad from Dan and Kevin at 4 Wheel Auto last week. It cost $422 US including shipping. They do require a core but were nice enough to send it out so I could avoid down time.

Call me if you need soemthing like that, factory new units are a little over 360.00 Canadian, no core required.

You send me the 360 and some of that tequila you always talk about.......

Hey Colby, you know the really silly part is that the rad is shipped from the Toyota warehouse in California to here then back to you??????

ToyotaUSA has HZJ75 and HZJ80 radiators stocked in Ontario, CA. Your local dealer can order them, but I'd recommend Cruiserdan since he ships items over $100 for free and you pay no state sales tax. No need to buy from Canada. MSRP around $500, dealer price $300-325.

Like I said before, just ask Dave...........

How does that guy know so much??

Thanks Dave.

so i'm confused. Is this a bolt in or did you have to make a few mods per fittings not matching the 3B?

Colby has both a BJ42 and 70, pretty sure he ordered a recore and thats why they asked for a core.

Under the hottest conditions in BC which can reach 100plus easy I have never encountered my BJ overheating, pretty sure a four row is not really needed?

If you are running a turbo, I have no expierence in those tempteratures with a turbo 3b.

oh.. ok. reman.. I missed that part. :whoops: I can easily get my 3b real hot with the climbs out here if I wanted to. I really don't see the arb bar and 8274 as that much of an obstruction. Better cooling would give me peace of mind if i'm having to pull the radiator to get it cleaned and or rodded.

Are you turbo-d?

Am I as confused as Wes  ? Tay says the HZJ75 rad is a bolt in but the lower inlet is on the wrong side (so that would mean the HZ has the lower inlet on the PS, not the DS like the 3B) So if that's true, an HZJ75 rad won't really "bolt" into a 70 with a 3B.

So what's the scoop?

As for sending in my core and having my 3 row replaced w/ a 4 row, any local rad shop down here will do it for around the $350-$400 range but I'd rather have a new factory rad for the same $$.

As for Wes's comments on heat...Mine gets real warm on hills, nevermind high altitude. And in the dead of summer when it's 100+F on a regular basis, I just don't drive it. The stock 3B rad is a POS, especially once you add AC and a turbo.

That is correct, the 1HZ radiator outlet is on the right (starboard) side. It will physically bolt in, but the outlet is on the wrong side. I've seen jury-rigged radiators where a crossover pipe is used. Each to his own.

Dave

On the 75 Radiator the top hose is in the correct location the bottom hose is on the wrong side for a 3B. I have put one of these type radiators on my BJ42 and went with riggid lower crossover pipe on the bottom. I would not do it again, it is a bit of a rig job.

Rad Cruisers and anyone else for that matter I thought toyota did not make a 4 core radiator for a 70 series? Did I miss something or was everyone just taking about recores?

Dave, Cruiserdan is doing recores not new correct?

Thanks,

Michael
