a few people have told me that if I posted a picture of my 2B injection pump, they would show me which screw to turn to reduce the fuel load for adjusting to altitude. Sorry for the delay but due to the 20" of snow that fell this weekend, i couldn't get out to take a picture until today. Sorry for all of the hassel, but my manual's pictures suck and they really don't describe the process very well.

So which screw is it? The one with the phillips cut into the end? which wa y do I turn to lessen the fuel. How do I know if I have turned it enough/too much?

Thanks again!

see pic. crack the big nut one or two flats. Hold the centre while doing it. With a large flat screw driver. Once the nut is cracked you can turn the screw left(lossen direction) to reduce fuel load. Then while holding the centre with flat screw driver you can tighten the large nut. Not too tight. just lightly snug.

I would start with 1/4 turn then drive. A little is a lot. Turn it down till it stops smoking then do a 1/8 of a turn more in the less direction. That will help be more cool on the egts.

Afterwards when it is not smoking try to find some wire and put it thru the nut and centre like the orginal wire is. to prevent it from coming loose and wondering the fuel load.

Does this make sense or what? It is not a hard adjustment. Best with a pyro, but if you smoking all the time I would crank it down immediately.

Ignore my marks in the upper lh of the pic, I was testing the corel paint. The screw is the one with the arrrow.

I may have a similar problem with my 1990 HDJ81 - it billows black smoke.

With the above suggestion, do I do the 1/4 turn clock-wise or counter-clock-wise?
Clock-wise will increase fuel spray?
While counter-clockwise will decrease it?

Yeah for the 1HDT it's counter clockwise to reduce the fuel load.
