Landcruiser go boom, NASCAR style.
So last night I was coming home from the military base my wife works at after working at the shop they have there. She was following me and she decided I wasn't going fast enough. I'd say 65 in a 55 in a 33 year old truck is plenty fast enough. So she passed me. I decided to keep up and we were doing 85. Didn't know the cruiser would go that fast. Then the truck started slowing down. i thought i hit the fuel cut off. I slowed to 75 and then got on it again. 15 seconds later, I can't see s***. I thought I blew the motor. I call her and she is about a mile ahead of me and I said look back. From that distance, she could see the steam cloud. I pull over and pop the hood and the motor is on fire. WTF! Luckily I had water because I was going to piss on it. So i go back to the base to get a truck to tow it to the shop. That didn't work all the offices were closed. So after an hour of thinking I go back to the truck and it starts up. i put some coolant in and realise i blew a huge hole in the radiator return line. So I quickly drive it to the base and park it. Fortunatley for me I had just done a compression check while at the base. So now I have a baseline to see if I warped the head or blew the head gasket. Sad thing is i was doing an inspection for a guy that was coming to buy it from me. FTW! Unbelievable.
Oh yeah, when the hose blew it sprayed so much coolant that it burned me and there was somuch steam I couldn't see. The fact I couldn't see was a surprise since the top was off the truck. i figured the steam would have blown away.
That is all.
