I have a wheel (16x10) that is 0 offset and 0 backspacing. The tire is 35x14.50, what size of wheel spacer will I need?

1", 1.5" , 2"...etc

Hey S&S,

Lay wheel flat on the ground (face down), measure from the back of the mounting holes to the lip. This will give you your backspacing. Your post reads as if they might be 5" in which you will need to run inch and a half spacers.

Good luck

Correct, but I lay the rim down, face UP, and measure from the back of the mounting surface to the floor.

Well, with 5" backspacing, you SHOULD need 1.5" of spacers. That said, every rim is designed a bit different and until it's on the rig, you never know for sure if it will clear everything. 35x14s might benefit from being out a little farther as well.

With the 16 inch wheel i bet that you could get away with running whatever you need to put the tire where you want it. On my rig the only place backspacing is crucial is the wheel to tie rod clearance, and with a 16 inch wheel i bet the wheel would slide over it without rubbing. Id say maybe 2 inches to get the wheel centered-ish in the wheelwell. Good luck getting that wide ass tire to tuck though.

In the rear the tire hits the left springs, how much clearance is safe ore recommended? Does it just need to clear?

on the front, the tie rod clears by a hair (keeping the wheels aimed forward/straight), although wasn't able to turn the wheel to see if I had any other issues.

Dam...maybe I just chasing a pipedream that these are going to work?
