I have a very clean, solid, straight, and uncut 1972 FJ40 body tub.
The surface rust shown in the floor is minor surface rust. We had started to DA sand the floor and it got wet... Surface rust is only a few months old...

There are a few minor issues that will need to be repaired but are simple for the novice welder...

I am located in Paradise, CA 95969

Sorry about the stupid shadows... These photos do not do this tub justice... There are a few minor dings and minor surface rust but is virtually cancer free.. If there is cancer rust in it (Which I have yet to spot) it can be welded up quickly with a few zaps from a mig welder...

So I dropped the price for the tub to $1200.00 from $1500 for Christmas...

If the tub does not sell before Christmas than it will be sent to my sand blaster, the small issues repaired, and then thrown on ebay for around $3500.00 which it will be in very near perfect condition at that price.

$1200 now through December 20, 2013...

I can look at it for anybody who is interested. I'll be in town this thurs to pick up my truck!!

Will this tub work on a 78?

It will and it won't... A few years back I put a 77' tub on a 79' chassis but the only way it will work to my knowledge and the way I did it was to swap chassis body mounts. Those 78' and newer tubs are really not easy to source anymore unless you go with new $$$$...

I might be wrong here but won't this tub work with a 78? I know there is a big difference in 79 and up tubs (gas tank being a big part) but I thought 72-78 would work and is interchangeable. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, nor the last. ;) GLWS

yes, 72 to 78 have the same body mounts. 79 and newer are very different.

Yeah I think you guys are right.... I thought 78' was the first year for the under floor mount fuel tanks but maybe 79' was the first year for that...

79 was the first year of the redesigned tub.

That is a fairly nice tub!

I am interested in the tub, sent you a PM
