You guys invited us to Uwharrie with your band of misfits so we are returning the favor. We have rented one of the group campsites (Group Site C which I think is last one if you drive around circle counter clockwise)..or first one if you take left and go around clockwise. :D) at Biden Lake for weekend of July 30-Aug 1. If you dont already have plans or just want to meet a few of our guys...feel free to join us. I am sure there will be some apple pie for those that missed out last time... :D :D

If you think you might show up...let us know so we can have enough food as we try to do a community meal on Saturday nights usually. If you want to bring something and make it a potluck that is appreciated as well...

I'll be out in that area, not with the cruiser though. I might stop by and steal all your beer in the middle of the night. :grinpimp:

watch out for the red dot......yetis arent that big

just back from the dust bowl..... er URE and bummed a starting/ignition issue turned me around at the outpost. SO close.

So I plan on being back down with you guys next weekend in the 80

more the merrier...at least without the booming call of the yeti at night...we wont get kicked out of campgrounds. LMAO

Bundu Gear Safari may be joining us this weekend....he is in Charleston getting delivery of some new products from South Africa and on vacation with family. Meeting him for lunch tomorrow and invited him to join us this weekend in his lightly modified 100 series.....4" lift, Hankook tires, RTT, etc.

Had a great time guys...I cant believe how nice the weather was...not much of a SUMMER SIZZLE but more like a FALL CRAWL almost. Great weather, great wheeling and good times by all. Thanks again for participating.

Saw a big blue 40 that had death wobble like crazy coming down 24/27 on saturday at around 4pm was that one of your guys??

that was me, had to crawl back home in second:o. Rock caught the steering stabilizer and broke it off. Turns out that was a huge band-aid. I rebuilt the short side awhile back and left the long side alone (it was tight and didn't have any play). I jacked it up this afternoon and the drivers side had a fair amount of play in it. Pulled the knuckle and the trunion bearings were nonexistent.:censor: It's hard to believe what kind of problems can be ''fixed" w/ a stabilizer.

Oh well, I think I will be investing in a trailer. Been putting it off for too long, and that fun ride home was icing on the cake.

Atleast me and pops had a good time until we got ready to head home. Here is a pic of the 40 w/ my dad. Only pic I've got w/ the cage I got from tim put in...

Big thanks to Rou for coming out and joining the trip. It was great to meet you and look forward to seeing more products from Bhundu. He brought his 100 series out open/open and loaded to the gills and was a great sport about driving into unknown territory with us strangers. Time to invest in some traction control :)

AGREED, the weather was near perfect. Actually cool in the mornings and enough shower to keep half the dust at bay.

The 470 did okay I think...I was able to go through all the obstacles without much fuss...Dickie Bell was not too bad for me even though it was heavily washed out with some large rocks and things...and a tree that likes to joust. LOL

Did some others then some were going Daniel and some to Falls Dam. I decided to see how the ledge was this year as I did it last year in my FJC without a problem. Made it up first ledge no problem...second ledge took 3 tries.....and rock/boulder field near end just took careful route selection especially when I got used to following Jason and he did not give me the GO AROUND signal on that one...hahahaha but I made it with just a little scratch on rock slider.

I pushed in the right lower bumper cladding slightly on deep mud ledge full of water on Rock Mtn Loop I think....it cracked paint but went right back to original shape....and a little nick under front bumper from going up the first ledge at daniel. Rou and Mylene have most the pictures...i did not take any this time.

Thanks for the fun time...the spotting...and the encouragement.

It was fun hearing people say, "Is that a fxxxing Lexus??" as I rode by ALL DAY...and on Dickie Bell we had 20 people watching as Rou had to get winched up Dickie Bell and then my near stock LX pulls into position and they are laughing and pointing and s***....then I go right up first try. LOL
