hey have you got wheel spacers fitted in this pic? I want to buy some, I have stock alloys and 285/75's and I don't know if I should get 1" or 1.25" or 1.5" spacers. cheers.
yes i got the 1.5. but heres the thing. i got the ones from trail gear and they aren't hubcentric, I currently purchased 1.25 from amazon and those are hubcentric. The reason for this is because i have a slight vibration at highway speeds. did all I could do to chase those vibes down and i'm thinking its the spacers. I couldn't find any 1.5 hubcentric so i went with the 1.25 for now. I'm also currently rebuilding my front axle so i haven tried them out yet.
btw let me know how you go with the hub centric spacers on the front. I have rear and been told that they wont fit on the front due to the smaller internal diameter of the spacer not fitting over the hub because the hub sticks out so far.
I have my original 1.5 i can reuse, the hubcentric will go on my turtleback trailer so i'm ok. I just wanted to get rid of the freeway shimmy by trying hubcentric. I have one last thing to try and thats a thinner socket I picked up from trailgear. it may just help center the spacer better with the lugnuts. We'll see
use 3 acorn (or conical) lug nuts to centre the wheel on to the spacer, then torque down the other three alloy wheel nuts, remove the acorn nuts and then fit the remaining three alloy wheel nuts and torque them to spec.
