Four intrepid YT members along with 2 FJ Cruisers plus the prerequisite and indestructible FJ40 spent the day at Moose Mountain in west central NH. Throw in a quarry's worth of rock, mud slick side hills and narrow tree lined trails that "pop taillights like zits" and you have the recipe for an adventure.

We winched here and there on the way in and much more on the way out. Some broken drivetrain parts required more time than we anticipated to get out. But, everyone kept their sense of humor and we teamed up to get the broken truck out without any more damage.

My FJC performed well as a tugboat, but I did damage a valve stem spinning a wheel up against a rock. (I will soon patent the valve stem condom for trailside repairs.) It worked well enough to get me home without a flat.

Junior learned how to make a Warn winch control out of a paper clip and a piece of wire. Hopefully, someone will find my almost new snatch strap before it rots away somewhere out there in a mudhole. Scotty is my choice of spotters when two FJC's are conjoined back to front so to speak.

There was some minor body damage, I wouldn't want to be there tomorrow when his missus does her walk around in the daylight.

Turns out that the hardcore guys would have had fun out here on some of the spots we avoided and even some that we couldn't. We should keep this place on our schedule, but I'm bringing the 40 next time.

Here's some pix and video. Enjoy!

Very Nice LC...I'll have my pics and videos up tonight! Lockers/Winch Required!

WOW! What a day! Nate, Brenden, or any other hard core guys that thought it wouldn't be challenging enough... you were wrong! The Boulder Bash trail would have kept you entertained for a while. It is worth the drive to wheel Moose Mt. We hardly did more than the access trail and I found it quite a challenge, I can't imagine what the rest of the trails are like.

Sherry, please go easy on Ernie, he had a really rough day yesterday. Despite issues, large and small, he never lost his cool or complained once. I would have felt like kicking puppies, I would have been so angry.

Larry, most excellent job piloting the Tug Boat, you are the Harbor Master! And thanks for the pics and the video!

Scott, THANK YOU so much for all the spotting you did! Allowing us to stay in our rigs while you spotted us threw, no doubt, saved a huge amount of time yesterday. ScottyMarks, rigging Master! I'd bet that you must have run about 10 miles.

I want to go back to Moose Mt....but I can wait a year.

Jr.

It does look like fun, wish I had the 40 ready, and a tow rig, Larry looks like your on par with me and dents on the fjc, they become badges of honorsooner or later, wish I made it.,,

All in all a great time and as Junior said the trail boulder bash will keep you occupied for hours and there are at least 2 other trails that we didn't have time to explore. Look forward to going back next year.
