This particular Toyota FJ 40 is truly a rare find. It is a 1970 domestic Japanese model, meaning, it is a Right Hand Drive vehicle which spent the first 18 years of its life touring Japan under the ownership of a photographer. When it was imported into the U.S.A. in 1988 it was delivered to Orlando, Florida and has been here ever since. This FJ is almost entirely outfitted with original parts ( Engine, Trans, Body, Lights, Badges, Gagues, Seats...) with the only modifications being a mount in the dash for a stereo and CB. NO jacked up mods on this collectable truck. In restored condition this can be a sweet ride.

January of 1980 FJ40 w/ approx. 65,000 miles. Newly restored, FJ60 strong blue, powder coat and bedliner on under side of tub. OME 2 1/2" w/ 33 x 10.5 BFG MT's on stock chrome steel. Volvo S60 leather front seats. Factory 6 with 4-spd. In process of finishing hard top, getting burnt out. Have all hard top parts, just need to finish. Have ambulance doors and front doors, they are still red from before the resto. Rear jump seats are earlier model style. Same owner for 18 years. A lot of money and time has been put into this Cruiser, and everything from the radiator to the rear end has either been repaired or replaced. It is a really nice driving Cruiser, very reliable, and mechanically it is in excellent condition. I’ve added some updates and improvements, but otherwise I tried to keep it as original as possible. All it needs is some body work and paint to finish it.
1996 - The original 3 speed transmission was replaced with an overhauled 4 speed. New fuel tank.
Oct 2004 – Redid the brake system and replaced all 4 drum brakes with disc brake conversion kit from BTB products...
Interested in a FJ40 built-out for daily driving, including some highway. Prefer a V6 or V8 (sm. block) conversion, AT, PS, air, discs, max 4.11 gears, 2.5" lift. New tub or sandblasted, body off restoration. The more mods the better, but no rock-crawlers please. I might want to trade my '07 FJC, stock, Titanium, 23k miles, with Pioneer AVIC-Z1 navigation (w/bluetooth, rear-view camera, hard-drive), rock rails, roof rack, hitch, new rubber, bull bar, fogs & overhead beams, AirRaid, and more. Hate to do it but things are shifting in another direction. Up for sale is a 77 fj40 currently apart. Fiberglass tub, steel cowl, aluminum fenders, steel hood and windshield frame good glass. Hard top and doors in good shape very little rust on bottom of amby doors. (not painted to match cruiser) Have stock seats good gas tank roll bar all the parts for 350 conversion including late 70's 4 bolt main, a complete 2f motor with fresh rebuilt aisin carb, 4 speed trans, driveshafts. Sits on stock springs with shackle reversal fron and rear. Hokey custom bumpers by po. Have new metal tech front bumper and stinger to go with it. Currently on 33 12.5 wally worlders. Sadly I'm selling the 40 I haven't even had for a year. Since buying I have completely redone the brakes. Brand new wheel cylinders, master cylinder, extended length soft lines, drum shoes, and hard lines (where needed). Rebuilt the parking brake.

I am actually listing this cruiser for my dad. It is a 72 FJ 40 body on a 78 FJ40 frame and drivetrain. It has a professionally rebuilt 2F, a new NV4500 tranny, and a 3 speed t-case. All rusted panels have been replaced with new steel. Completely re-upholstered stock interior and spector slip covers. BDS 4 inch suspension lift with 33X10.5 BFG muds on stock steel wheels.
