1973 FJ40
Looking to get rid of my 40, I am wanting to switch to an 80. I just don't drive it enough and my fiance isn't comfortable driving it at all. I listed it on craigslist for 25k, but will let it go for less to a mud member, I will also consider a trade for a well built 80 within reason. If you don't like the price, I ask that you please keep any negative comments to yourself, everyone on this site knows what it cost to build a decent rig. If you have any questions you can also give me a call at 949-218-3975 or 910-581-1910 (west coast). https://forum.ih8mud.com/member-garages/500032-1973-fj40-1973-toyota-fj40.html
1980 FJ40 all OEM except rims. Lots of body rust
This unmolested FJ40 is all original except for the rims but has a lot of body rust. The rear tub has significant rust through as do the foot well floor panels. Some miscellaneous other rust through on doors, RR quarterpanel. Firewall looks reasonably OK. The upside is that this is a COMPLETE unmolested matching numbers OEM 1980 FJ40 except for the low miles BFG AT T/A Baja Champion tires and white spoke rims. Only about 1500 of these were brought in to the US that year I believe. Hard starts and some stumble mid throttle. Probably carb rebuild or timing issue though possible valve job needed. Transfer lever is stuck in 4H, almost certainly seized in the the linkage pivot. No evidence of internal transfer issues. In general the...
http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/2790194208.html Not mine but it's worth a laugh. According to this guy they only made hardtop 40s in '64 and '65 which must make my 77 hardtop priceless. I'll start the bidding at $100,000. :). What is with guys claiming rarity for stupid stuff these days and trying to get twice what a rig is worth. Oooooh my rig is the only green 77 with a hard top, white roof, 4-Spd and rust on the rear sill....WTF?! Ok rant over. db db
1978 FJ40 Wa.
1978 FJ40 asking $6000 obo. 75000 miles, runs well. I have 25+ years of receipts of this vehicle from the previous owner, who kept things updated well. I have had it the last 4 years or so, was my daily driver till last year, I love this truck but growing family means it has to go. Has Old Man Emu, added 33X10.5 BFG ATs, replaced the old holley carb with a professionally rebuilt stock carb (Jim C) and air cleaner. I have also had the exhaust replaced, new gear reduction starter, installed block heater and rear heater, previous owner had new radiator in 05, it has the drivers leather bucket seat out of newer tahoe in the back, but I also have the original jump seats. The pictured new tires are not included as they are on my...
69 FJ40 in NorCal, ARB V8
1969 Toyota Landcrusier FJ40. I have too many projects and not enough time or space. I am parting with this FJ40 and concentrating on other projects. I really wanted to build this one as it is V8 powered but as I wrote, I am short on time and it is taking up a large section of my workshop. I am asking $3500 or best REASONABLE offer. I am not giving it away as it has good components. It has no fees and is non-op’d. It has 350 fuel injected Chevy V8 with computer and Hedman Shorty Headers. The headers are new from Summit. Transmission is a 700R4 bolted to a NP205 transfer case. The power train was taken from a 1989 Blazer. The motor and transmission mounts are quality. There is a brand new Griffin aluminum radiator and transmission...
1971 FJ40 in SLC, UT $1600
1971 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser, in Salt Lake City (Murray), UT. Asking $1600. After endless hours spent reading through all the builds and threads on this forum, my first thread isn't a build, it's to sell. :crybaby: I bought this FJ40 years ago during better times, has been stored inside, and untouched since. Bought it from a salvage yard (pics are from when I picked it up), the motor had supposedly been rebuilt by past owner, but was then overheated. It didn't run when I bought it, and does NOT run now, I've never seen how it drives (it 'trailered' well though ;)). I have the radiator, carb and other parts not seen in the engine bay pics, they were in the cab. Don't know much about it, was never able to get started on it, what...

1972 Fj40
I have this '72 fj40 in Salisbury Maryland that I either need to sell or ship to NYC where I live, to get it operational. It is not currently running, the motor turns over but does not stay running. I believe it needs the choke hooked up, or the carb rebuilt. I believe it is a 2F. The plugs, wires and distributer have all been replaced. The gas tank was cleaned and replaced. The clutch has been rebuilt. A friend who was working on it for me no longer has the time to get it finished. There is a rusted thru hole the size of a coke can on the drivers side floorboard, and rust on the rear lower ambulance doors, but otherwise it seems to be minimal. I do not have any pics of the interior, it will need carpet or rubber mats. The front seats...
1972 FST FJ40 with inflated ego...SORRY, ALREADY POSTED I saw this on ebay today...the guy selling it has his head in the clouds.... "This Original fj40 Factory Soft-Top could be put on display as is in a Collection or even a Museum! With a small investment in a restoration this fj40 is priceless, can you put a value on it? 75-150k minimum I would guess??" Take a look...Toyota : Land Cruiser Toyota : Land Cruiser | eBay
Anyone want to throw out what they think this one may be worth? Obviously not the $14k he's starting at as there are no bids......I had the owner send me high res photos of the rear tub, which has significant rust on the wheel wells and it's obvious it was really bad at the rear quarters as there has been metal cut out and replaced. I know the wheels & tires are awful, but I can see past them to a nice set of stock steelies with some 33x9.50's! Toyota : Land Cruiser Toyota : Land Cruiser | eBay
1965 parts rig/project FJ40 in Denver
Body pretty complete, no engine/drivetrain. Interior is pretty stripped and has about 30 pounds of rat droppings, so I have no poked around in there too much. :) Just had back surgery, was planning on parting it out, but can't work on it for a month or so and would like to get room back in my shop... In pretty good shape: Windshield frame hood hardtop rear doors front doors frame is solid, the tub ain't too bad for a 65. Could be bought as is for $1200 and restore or part out for more. No title though...but maybe possible to get... Here are a couple of pics, more in the link. thanks!! Pictures by timmbuck22 - Photobucket Timm
1968 FJ40
1968 FJ40 complete body off rebuild 5.3L vortec 1968 FJ40 LandCruiser Asking $18,000.00. Location: Southern California Build thread: [URL]https://forum.ih8mud.com/hardcore-corner/332378-final-4-link-calculations.html 100% rebuilt from the frame up. I built this as my dream truck and spared no expense, I have not installed lockers yet but that is basically the last thing that is needed (I have a powertrax locker being sold separately). I went through a third party brake and lamp inspection as well as DMV inspection (in California!) prior to being registered on the road. It is insured for $18,000. The only reason I’m selling this truck is work has relocated me overseas and due to the amount of modifications I cannot bring...
FJ-40 V8 4Speed
Looking to buy an FJ40 with a Chevy V8 and a four speed. Looking to avoid buying a project!! I'm not looking for a fully restored mint truck, however i also don't want something that's SO built that i can't comfortably drive it on the highway. Just looking for something that can use as as a daily driver in the summer and will turn heads, and still be able to hit some OHV parks on the weekends and kick some ass!! I recently lost my built fj80 in a grass fire incident. Before After
