Sadly I am selling my 1986 Land Cruiser FJ45 Pickup- I manage a Toyota dealership in middle Tennessee and had been looking for a unique toy for events like cars 'n coffee with the family when I originally purchased this truck back in April of this year. We were later blessed to hear that we are having another little boy in January, so the wife and I agreed that the truck will no longer be practical since I will soon have much less free time for cruisin. The truck has had a recent restoration, but I do not have a lot of the specifics as I purchased it from auction. Upon receiving the truck, we went thru it thoroughly to correct any obvious concerns. Changed brakes, lines, hoses, tie rods, seat belts, wheels and tires (still have...
First and foremost, this is not a project for the faint of heart. With that said, I am selling my 1965 lwb fj45 removable hard top. I am the third owner. The first owner had it on a farm in Northeastern Wyoming. He passed away and the cruiser sat in a field until it was purchased by the second owner in 1994. It was original when he purchased it. He bought it without a title so his plan for getting it back on the road with plates was to take his 79 FJ40, cut the cowl, dash, windshield, front door jambs and front clip and put them on the FJ45 body. (Why he didnt just swap the vin tags is beyond me..) So as it sits, the front of this 45 is truly a 40. Sadly, the front of a 45, rear of a 40 and all of the 45 drivetrain and axles were taken...
This started out as a feeler thread because I was looking for some Troopies and came across this HJ47. I ended up buying the HJ47 so it is no longer a feeler thread! I got this Cruiser from some Cruiser enthusiasts in Latin America. When they found it it still had it's factory green paint. Unfortunately, they decided to paint it the blue color it is now. This is a "backyard" paint job and is about the quality you would expect by a couple guys doing it in their backyard. The truck has not and was not restored, just painted. The P/O's did paint over some rust. They used very little, I repeat very little body filler on the truck. I check all my trucks before purchase with an electronic body filler detector and there is very little in this...
$1.00 no reserve. 1981 Toyota Land Cruiser Bj42 fj40 | eBay Up for sale is my 1981 BJ42 Canadian diesel land cruiser. It has the ultimate 3B Diesel engine and 4 speed manual transmission. Starts and runs good. Has a kayline soft top in good shape. Hard to find one like this. Had previous repairs to the body by the other owner. It is not a show truck. It is a good start to a running cruiser. The brakes need bleeding and it needs a new fuel tank strap on one side. I have it held up with a ratchet strap. Needs exhaust. Frame is solid. Yes you can drive it around the parking lot but not home. It starts great, runs good, goes through all 4 gears and stops. 4wd also works. I have not had this long and was part of a package deal I bought.$
Looking for a nice rust free driver, original paint/patina is fine. Looking for floor not column shift. PS and PB upgrades are welcomed. Closer to stock the better. Doesn’t have to be perfect, only planning on driving it the 2 miles to downtown Zionsville for breakfast or dinner. Maybe cars and coffee and the 3 miles to the gym. Soft top may be better than hard top. I don’t plan on ever running a top or at a maximum a soft top rolled up. Would like a color like spring green, cadet, capri or sky blue, olive, or nebula green.
UPDATE 9/5/2019: ASKING PRICE: $37,000 (AS-IS) Please read my comments in 9/5/2019 post below. ================================= Hi folks, I have been following mud for a long time but don't post frequently. Wanted to introduce my BJ45 Troopy as I am thinking about selling it and need some guidance on valuation and whether to put it on Ebay/BaT or Hemmings, Craigslist (or any other option). I want to post it here as well. It is JDM, purchased overseas, great survivor and solid frame/body to begin with, got it lightly restored (not frame-off) and imported. Countless hours of hard work and effort went into it over all. Wouldn't be selling if I didn't have something else to replace it! :) Hope it finds a great home. Pictures below...
For all the Land Cruiser enthusiasts who need to haul around giraffes - have I got a car for you! We imported this BJ42 from a sunny, snow-free part of Italy, so the steering wheel is on the more convenient side. Before it left, they replaced the clutch and starter motor. We replaced both batteries after it got here. It just had an oil change with a good quality Wix filter. At the same time, a new Wix fuel filter was installed and it got a double fuel system cleaning treatment. It also got a new air filter. It has the frame for the top, but not the top itself. There are so many different colors and styles, I thought it would be better to let the new owner choose exactly which one he/she would prefer. It has a 4-speed transmission. The...
Sadly I've decided after finding my "unicorn" that I need to focus resources on finishing off my 80 ( new HG and perhaps a Wits End turbo kit....) and some other higher priorities.... so, sadly putting the HJ45 up for sale...... I picked this up as a Costa Rican Import this spring with plans to fully go thru it - it's in great shape for the most par, but was skimmed with bondo and repainted a few years ago.... and the bondo in fenders and tailgate is now revealing itself .... I picked up and will be selling it with new tailgate, fenders and almost all the gaskets, seals and hardware to take it back to mint condition as well as a few upgrades.... ( ARB bumper etc). The frame and underside are in great shape with nothing other than...
FJ43 Bring a Trailer Auction - No reserve This FJ43 came to me in amazing cosmetic condition from a Columbian who had moved to Canada after having it frame-off restored in Colombia in 2014. He wasn’t using it and I picked it up and imported it to the US in 2016. I quickly realized the engine and accessories were in sorry (but pretty) shape so I called on my local vintage engineering shop (Northumberland Engineering out of Southampton) to go to town on it. We added the family cage, rear bench, 3 point seatbelts (for car seats), dual ARB lockers and rebuilt the transmission, transfer case and the various other motor accessories that needed attention. I then used it for 3 years and have had immense enjoyment from it– looks great, starts...
I have spent nearly $170K in restoration costs on this truck. The day it was completed the dingbat who picked it up for shipping did not properly secure it to the trailer and lost control flipping the truck onto its roof in the grass. He did not have insurance. Needless to say, I am not going thru this long process again. Clean title. Nothing on record as to the accident. Perfect straight chassis. never any corrosion. Many body panels can be reused. The tub itself is intact and good. Theres a bend in front of one of the wheel arches. The doors have some panels that can be reused. I had this truck completely disassembled and new metal installed where it was needed. No filler. Anything that could be replaced with new was done. I had a...
