People have a hang up with Columbia Trucks and once they see no heater, bog all over the place etc they deiced they would rather buy a rusted our USDM FJ40

You just have to be "Smart" with how you go about it so if you do decided to proceed make sure you understand the process as it will have a short vin ( under 17 ) which can throw a flag but due to year it is exempt from most of the BS so it can be legally done

Pre-smog so you should be good I just did it with a 40 from out of state. They'll do a vin verification with the tub/frame for a new title. The person at AAA that did mine also asked to see the emissions sticker under the hood even though it doesn't need to meet emissions...idk maybe just a formality

Careful fellas. I have had major issues with imports that are pre-75 in CA. Get some tags made up from ToyotaMatt or somebody before you attempt CA registration. I have a car stuck in DMV that they have deemed Gray Market because it was Colombian even though it was previously registered in two different United States after being imported.
