I need someone to help me revive a CAT diesel that has been sitting for 7 years. It ran fine when it was parked. It was transpla nted in the back of a 28 foot converted city bus (twin coach). It's still at the sellers house in Westminister but they don't want any work going on there. One front tire is off the bead as well as the normal fuel system and battery problems from sitting. Is there anyone local needing extra work? know someone? know of any good parts sources? - or know a shop with a good reputation in the area?

If it ran fine, and it's been reasonably sheltered from the elements (ie, no open engine parts) then why don't you just get some fresh fuel to it and a good battery and jump it? I used to run my diesels right out of gas can when I was bench testing them. Make short "temp" fuel lines, bleed it, and see what type of cutoff the engine uses. You will need to power whatever solenoid shuts it off. On mine, I just removed the vacuum line to the cut off and hit the starter directly with jumper cables and they would fire right up.

Good advice but that's just the first step. I'm hoping to find someone that can save me the time to research a bunch of stuff and help out with the work. Basically whatever it needs to get it on the road. The air brakes are also a big mystery too me.
