SoCal Club Meeting: Sunday Feb 13th.

Next Club Run:

Death Valley Camping trip planned for February 18th through 21st. The trip is planned to explore the northern end of the valley. (This is a long weekend with many people having both Friday and Monday off.) The Club will be base camping at Stovepipe Wells(map) GPS coordinates: 36.60982,-117.15208

What areas to you plan on hitting Jerry?

Some of the places I would like to see is the Ubehebe Crater and Eureka Dunes. Fall Canyon, Titus Canyon and Rhyolite look interesting. Seeing the Racetrack near Tea Kettle junction would be good.


The amount of distance that is needed to be covered in Death Valley makes it hard to see everything. I think if we hit even a few of the above sites we will be lucky.

Thanks for the info. Buddy and I want to do something over the long weekend. I'll talk to him this weekend.

How many you have going. I'm in an 80 series and he's got an FJ Cruiser. Both have 2-3" lifts and lockers. I may be pulling an offroad trailer.

So far we are about 3 or 4 rigs confirmed. I'll post up a rig count as the numbers trickle in. I will know more once we have our Club meeting on the 13th.

Stock rigs should have no trouble on this run. Keep in mind that we will be using Stovepipe Wells as a base camp.

At this point a few of us will be camping at Ballarat Thursday night and make our way to Stovepipe Wells Friday morning.

Quick update:

We are up to six trucks going to Death Valley at this time.

(Some members will be traveling out Thursday evening on 17th and camping at Ballerat Ghost Town Thursday night and going on to Stovepipe Wells on Friday morning.)

Every year I seem to have something else schedule when the Death Valley trip comes up. I am heading out to Joshua Tree that weekend to do some wheelin & dirtbike riding. I'm going to try to make it to the club meeting Sunday, might see you then Jerry.
