Before I left on the Chicotin trip I ordered a clutch booster. I received my clutch booster from the Hebei Xingua Atomobile Brake company (China) this week and it looks great! It was $91.00 US plus $45 for the direct bank deposit charge to an account in China for a landed total of $132.53 USD. Boogie 74 priced an OEM clutch booster in Oz for $1,160 AUD and so he ordered and installed the Hebei clutch booster and it works fine.

I was advised that through the Royal Bank website you can do international bank deposits, which overseas suppliers prefer for $10.00. In the past I have paid Australian companies through electronic transfers to their bank accounts so using the new Royal Website service will be cheaper in future.

As I said before the database got lost, I was at first not sure about ordering from these Chinese companies until I guy I know ordered 10 IP seal kits from one. The kits came in the Zexel packaging with the Nissan parts sticker on them. $18 was my cost to get one - including shipping from China and mail from Ottawa. The kits retail for over $100 in Australia. I don't need it now, but it was too good of a buy to pass up. I am going to look into this company for brake parts for my Safari. Thanks for posting Glenn.

Inquire at your own bank - if not -- its easy a to open up a small account at the Royal to use their $10 E-transfer service.

Get it from source and cut-out the middleman! Parts for these rigs are expensive enough.

Its in !

Well today I installed my new clutch booster. The trick in the 74 is to drop the steering column to allow room to pull the old unit from under the dash. I installed it (fit like a glove), cleaned everything, bled and adjusted the clutch and took her for a spin.

What an incredible difference! I have been driving it over 3 years not knowing what it was suppose to be like. It now will be way easier to drive in heavy wheeling maneuvers and dense traffic. Good company to deal with, although getting the money over to China and the unit on its way took a bit of time.

was the master cylinder leaking? Or did the clutch booster not hold vacuum?

You can get a variety of clutch booster seals also at napa. They had one for my bj60 booster. Just fyi too.

Really? got any part numbers, I have one that blew the front seal due to the clutch leaking fluid over time.
Glenn, I've noticed on the site you provided they give their part numbers for the equipment but (since I've been lazy) are they the same as Toyota numbers? (they don't mention applications or manufacturer's). How do we know what to order?

No master clutch cylinder was fine. Booster never held vacuum. I was going to rebuild it - but Toyota wanted $70 for as few rubbers. I said know - its easy to pull and rebuild so I left it.

To confirm I sent them the vehicle description, VIN and model numbers off the firewall and a picture of the truck.

I have a FJ-61 with an ASIN SEKI clutch booster, I have talked to the manufacturer and its not an item to be had new. You found something in china for your 74 and I am hoping the 61 is similar - do you think its worth a look and if so .. you would not happen to still have the contact info would you?

The link is above. E-Mail Ms Summer Lui.

Use simple English and send her vehicle Vin and picture. I am sure they can help you. Use Royal Bank E transfer webservice (or equvalent $13.00) otherwise your bank will charge~$45
