Got me another 80 series!

Well after a few months of searching for just the right 80 series, I finally closed the deal on a 96 LX 450, loaded, locked, and with only 160,000kms. I think I got a ripping good deal! I pick it up Saturday, and I'll begin the mods asap. I'll post some pics then

Thanks Sonny, it's pretty close to the cleanest one I've ever seen with the lowest mileage. There is a 1997 LX in Van that's pretty clean, locked, 220,000kms, but I opted for just a bit cleaner, and a few less miles.

And how much were these new? Over $70,000 if I remember correctly. Amazing what high gas prices will do....

yeah I started looking at f350 crew cab diesel 4x4's i can pick one up for between $15K and $20k that is less than 3 years old that sold for $70,000 when new. I think i will try and pick up a little older 7.3 as i have heard bad things about the 6.0l

Yeah, I went that route too. Picked up a 2000 F450 crew cab, 7.3L Powerstroke, 4x4, 6sp manual. Putzing around town, fuel mileage isn't too bad. It has been dead reliable and troublefree. I sure miss my diesel Land Cruisers though.
