Just wondering if any one knows if the front doors on a late 80's BJ73 would fit on a 1990 Prado LJ78? the look very very similar. I would love some educated guesses on whether or not they will fit before I try and chase one down in Vancouver somewhere.

I dont think so. The front doors on the 2 door models are different at rear bottom.
The 73,74,75 series doors are curved .
The wagon doors are more straight to match the shape of the rear door.

Also ,I think the LJ78 has the fixed windscreen which means the they will also be different in the top forward corner.

I think you are limted to 73,74,75 series heavy duty models and 70 and 73(rare)series light duty models, basically any 2 door with a fold down windscreen.

The lj78 front doors are also shorter than all other models.

Edit:
The 4 door wagon doors don't fit the swb mwb troopy or ute.
Even the top of the door on the wagons is more curved, that why the oem mirrors have a shaped spacer in between the mirror and the door to accommodate for the different door shape.

you sure? they look identical to all the other wagons. looking at the pzj / hzj77 and the lj78 theyre the same car from the bulkhead back.
the door cards are a little different, but the metals the same i think

I can confirm lj78 doors will not fit on the lj70. They look very much alike!!

Maybe they could be cut to fit if they are too long :D

Well Thanx for the tips guys. I was about to order one online and have it shipped cuz they look so close in pictures. But I think I will try to beat the dents out of mine and weld up the cracks and see if I can't make it manageable. Not to worried about appearance just need it to work!
