just finished installing acura mdx leather seats in my 1988 fj 62. installation was a breeze but cooking the electrical was a nightmare. Very pleased, check out pics.
I had to drill a few holes in the original seat brackets to make them fit but pretty much a bolt on application.

Seat installation was a breeze and after finally deciding to use original seat brackets form Cruiser, it took about an hour to install. It took me three hours to decide that fabricating brackets was going to take too long.
Wiring was a whole nother issue. Long story short: Two mechanics told me that the motors were fried and I should resale the seats and get other ones. I wasnt satisfied with that so I came home early from work today to focus on, not on kids grass home repairs and everything else I should be doing, but wrapping my head around this issue. I ran two hot wires from battery and ground from battery. That way i knew I had good juice and a good ground. I connected the two wires that the diagram showed as HOT all the time and grounded everything. Now with the other hot wire, I connected to each other wire until I found something that worked. Sure enough it came alive. These seats have motor controls for front seat pan up/down, rear seat pan up/down, front/back, and back rest front/back. I was able to move and adjust all motors except; Driver seat front up/down. Not sure if I need to find a combination that works this function separately. Same controls on passenger seat. With passenger seat I was unable to adjust seat pan up/down on either front or back.
Everything is in a position that is comfortable and at least my head is not in the headrest and my knees are no longer up in the steering wheel. My next project will be to permanently wire everything and get all motor controls to work. This may take awhile.
After all said and done, I have $250 tied up in these seats...100% worth the headache, time, and money. Also, from when I purchased these seats till today, total project time is about two weeks. If I knew then what I know now, the whole project could have been finished on a Saturday with daylight to spare.

They look pretty comfortable. I have some Volvo S70 seats I was thinking of installing since I got them for $90, but they are a headache in the bracket department.

I really didnt want to disassemble the original seat brackets from the original seats, but it saved me about $100 and a days worth of time. Pretty much I drilled out the rivet and tab weld that was holding the mounting brackets on the bottom of the seat. Drilled a 1/2" hole for Acura seat studs to fit in and they fell right into place. I did have to space out the front door side floor bracket on both seats to accommodate some space but that was using a 1/2" thick piece of scrap steel I found. Worked perfect! I recommend using original brackets if you can. If you want to go back stock, you can find original seats for a decent price.
