Got into an accident this morning on the way to work. I got hit by a girl in a mini van.

Fortunately the damage looks to be ONLY ON THE DOORS! As far as I can see, there is no body damage at all, except for the little chrome trip strip under the doors being ripped off.

My primary concern is that the Insurance company might try to total it. I want to stay ahead of the curve and try to get a line on a set of replacement doors.

My cruiser is a 1990 FJ62 (Power Locks, Power Windows). Will any 60-series doors work? Where should I start looking for a set? Anybody happen to have a set?

No b-pillar damage? You got away pretty easily, they must have been going pretty slow.

Yep - as far as I can tell there is no damage to anything but the doors.

...so I gotta try to find a set! ASAP!

dislike.

I have an extra set, they're not white though.

Seriously?!?! You've got a set of Passenger doors you'd be willing to part with? It doesn't matter that they ain't white. It's gonna need some paint regardless. I will let the insurance company worry about that detail.

Will there be any issues fitting the power window/Lock components on pre-88 doors?

Sorry to see tha damage done to your ride. I too, have the doors you need off a white 89 fj62, electric with grey interior panels (complete with glass). They're rust free and good to go. Shipping costs would be at your expense. I think about 150.00 via Fedex, each. I"m looking to get 300.00 for each door. I've them listed with pics in the parts for sale section on this site. Call me if you like at: 205-294-8793

OUTSTANDING!!!
I may be in touch VERY SOON!

hey SAR,
there's a rust bucket-of-a-62 in my area(Pasadena area). I'll inquire with the owner(s) and keep you posted.
too bad for your rig. I hope your insurance co. doesn't total it. I seriously fought tooth n nail w/ my ins. co. after our accident. I knew they wanted to total it, so I came prepared -I did the research and had prices from other 62's that were comparable to mine. and the result, no salvage title. good luck mate.

btw, you in the navy or live near pt. loma? those pics look near cabrillo nat'l park. my parents live in PB.

Thanks a lot, man! That's exactly what I'm trying to do. ...Arm myself with some figures and quotes ahead of time so I can try anything in my power to keep it from being totalled.

I am in the Navy - I work in Coronado. The pics of the crunched doors were taken in Coronado. The nice picture of the un-crunched Cruiser was taken near PT Loma.

Off topic but i love the sequoia wheels. Did you need spacers or anything?

Yeah - I did need wheel spacers. Without them, the Sequoia wheels would hit the tie-rod a little bit. Only the front required spacers, but I picked up 4 from Marlin Crawler, and put them all the way around so it didn't look goofy.

If they do total it, buy it back. You will end up with a damage title, but if you are going to keep it forever as most of us do, then who really cares what the title says. I had a honda that got totaled and they gave me $2000. The buy back was $285 so I cleared over $1700. :D It sucks to get hit, but when you have a near perfect rig, then you have to work the system any way you can. You could use the money to do a million different things on your rig. Doors can be had cheap as you can see. Many great IHMudders out there to help.
