Has anyone tried to make an aluminum dash replacement for their 60? I haven't actually pulled my dash off, but when I put in my stereo it didn't seem too complicated. It seems like one bend, a curve to follow the windshield, holes for the hvac, and a gauge cluster of some kind. Would it update the look of the dash, make it look like a race truck, or be a huge waste of time?

The question I'd ask would be why? doesn't seem like an area prone to rust or damage. If you need a new one, then definitely not a waste of time. If you don't like the racer look, some vinyl and some 3m interior fabric glue would fix that...

never did the full dash...i found a new dash at a scrap yard for $60 only had one crack by the speaker hole...but i did have my pops make me this nice billet aluminum controller panel

Yup, that's pretty cool. What is your dash covered in?

looks rhinolined?

If you make your whole dash aluminum it could be quite the can opener in an accident. Wear a seatbelt for sure :)

Would look nice. Just don't leave any sharp edges in case you get in a wreck.
