im getting a engine stand and lift so i can do an engine rebuild easier. and i need to know the weight of an F engine

REALLY.... I know it's heavier than a 350 by 100- 150lbs. but 600+, WOW.

well, as long as a 1000 lb stand will hold it then im fine. next question, where should i get parts for an engine rebuild (and what should i replace, cause its running hot, loud, a few lifter springs are weak, one of the valves are burnt, and i have a few leaks from gaskets. where should i get a good kit, or should i just get it in pieces or small rebuild kits.?

I agree with Steve le Poser. 650 would be my estimate. SOR says shipping weight "approx 600 lbs".

713 pounds complete, with bellhousing and flywheel/clutch assembly, strapped to a wooden pallet.

As important as the # rating of the stand is the leg design. The one I bought has a "U" shaped base as opposed to the "T" base. I think it is a lot more stable. Most engine stands of late are designed for V8's and V6's. Not only the weight but the shape of the I6 is an issue. Mine is rated at 1250# and cost about a hundy.
You can see in the second pic how much of the engine is in front of the wheels.
I wish they were about a foot longer. But I'm a scaredy-cat.

Relocate your casters to some square tubing and slide it in the legs to extend 'em

We took 4 or five cheapo stands that we had around the shop (the three point stands. We put a cross tobe on the front and put two casters at the ends to make them into four pointers. We put a cross brace on the vertical support. Replaced the rear wheels with casters too. Work great. You still want to be carefull rolling complete engines around the shop and moving them about/storring them on the stands, but they are plenty stable unless you get stupid with one.
