It's time for me to replace my brakes and was wondering if anyone has tried the Sport Kit from Stoptech. I know they have big-brake kits but I don't want to replace the calipers or wheels. I may consider the Tundra upgrade but again, don't really want to replace the calipers at this point. I'm currently just looking for pad and rotor replacements.

Looks like the Sport Kit is about $700, very close to OEM replacement. Anyone tried these or have any other recommendations over the stock rotors and pads?

Thanks in advance,
Craig

Craig, FYI it's going to be difficult to gain much by just replacing the rotors and pads. Some better pads may increase the feel and keep the system operating into a higher temperature range, which is always helpful... but the capacity of the system will essentially remain the same. I'll update my brake thread with more info.

Since you just want some good rotors and pads, Centric Premium Rotors and Hawk LTS pads are my recommendation. Centric owns Stoptech.

Thanks for the input Brian.

Yeah, I'm not really looking for any increase in braking capacity (although that would be nice) just a decent alternative to the stock rotors and pads at this point. The stock set didn't last long mostly due to our driving habits (~35k miles) and I think one of the rotors is warped because we get a slight pulse.

I'm usually a big OEM fan but after the numerous issues addressed on this forum and limited brake life I experienced with my own LC I figure it's worth trying some other options.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check those out too.
