Hand brake adjustments?

How high should your hand brake come before it fully engages?

I usually only use it when parking on hills, of which there aren't many around, so when I used it a couple nights ago it seemed to have too much travel.

Maybe it's just from lack of regular use, but I don't think it should come up far enough that the tip of the handle is almost even with the top of the Center Console.

Thoughts?

I had mine adjusted during my last brake service, and the difference is like night and day. Before it went up as you say, now it doesn't more than 7 or 8 clicks.
BTW, I always engage the hand brake when parking, and then put the transmission into "P". The hand brake is much stronger.

I think your ebrake needs a little adjusting if it comes up that far. I wish i knew how to adjust it because mine doesnt even grab tight...and winters coming!

my parking brake doesnt work at all. im not sure what is wrong with it. anyone have any ideas?

they rust and "freeze", its sometimes slightly costly to fix it. I got mine fixed under warranty the other month.

well i never use it anyway. funny thing is on a pathfinder i owned years ago the parking brake didnt work either. funny thing is i never use them. maybe they have become rusted in the open position because i dont use it.

Hey loud, do u remember how much they said it was going to cost to fix?
