Some time after 88 ish ?

Toyota updated to this black little darling , this was absolutely state of the art water 💦 proofing and a SNOW VERSION cold spec detail

The thought into this make me awe struck 💥

Finding them as a true unicorn hunter mission but a kill shot to a steady supply now is the Result !

When are we doing a road trip with these 60's Matt? Nice work. I've always wanted to do an fj60 trip to Maine? But if you decide to head West, let me know, I'll fall in.
I'm down to go!

And that, boys and girls, is why your Toyota Land Cruiser cost $13,999.99 in 1989.

Finally the weather has broke and some much needed Hobby Enthusiast tech-time can occur

- the main areas of focus are the concept of my pipe-dream 100% TOYOTA OEM japan spec. 3F-E desmog kit parts ....

- i am well on my way and can report the KIT is installed and NO CHINA Dornman crap or silly sad USA made sissy drive belts either

- replacing the original 1989 80A External Fan ALTERNATOR , with my 90A variant makes logic and sense here , and simply adding and including a NEW OEM Single Groove Pulley and teh updated new Flange Nut to my highly anticipated De-SMOG kit will say something special , and look killer kool too at the same time , so that will be done ....

- air rail removal and install of the OEM TITANIUM service plugs only qty x 4 oddly ? proved to be a azz-kicking should of just listened to @cruisermatt and NOT tried to invent that dam wheel !

- valve cover off , i cringed my fangs to see the age and time sludge factor , and to my dear delight , i am very pleased , some cake on the rocker arms , and we tad bits here and there , but otherwise 94% Spotless ! ..............yea i win for once on a GHOST un-known ...🤣

- NOTE my alternator 3-wire original PLUG photos , if your ever told this is not a matter of course , or NO big deal , your being lied to by a person that should not be giving such amature hour advice ......
\

- a new and radically modern Power Steering Idler re-fresh kit in on the table on R& D now , down to the SNAP RING !

- same goes for the adjust bolt A/C pully , and its super nifty well thought out AHCORN CROWN nut and lock down nut details that absolute matter here in every conceivable way

. and the 3F-E beat goes on .......:D

.

-

The original PLANT A11 installed 80A amp alternator , note the killer kool original decal , i created super detailed file on it and have it inb Reproduction process now , if anyone has this same original decal still on there unit PLEASE post some pics here , i can ONLY determine it was a ALL black ink on the chrome foil background , NO other pastel colors , but i ONLY have ever seen this unique one example too ?

- input is welcome on this super rare FJ62 decal TECH....:)

- the original unit was working normally and i had ZERO problems requiring its replacement , the BLACK 3 pin input connector plug and the ring B+ terminal are stand alone topics , but in all reality AGE , TIME and the fact i plan a FULL Documented autopsy to see the actual internals like brushes remaining status is simply way too kool to pass up .....

- the accidental below new unit falling and breaking the connector and my pride simply presented itself as a mis-fortune or sorts creating a why not in-fact do this , AFTER i had it very well bench tested to make sure internally no damage , and then the black new OEM plug covering up the entire brown cracked device side connector a no brainer in my world , as it could NO LONGER be mailed out to a client customer , it was now mine as these things and topics rarely happen but when they do , think how it can be turned around to be a UNICORN of a opportunity too ...:D

.

- THIS WAS THE WAY ...
.

also , the result of the new 90A one rolling of my shipping station table approx. 36" inches ff the ground , i DID have my usual cardboard tube from a spent tape gun roll all nicely in place too , i guess approx. 15LBS of shear lump sum matter falling like , could of easily broke my foot or worse ..../:oops:

Creating the 100% ALL OEM Toyota Genuine Parts Japan Spec. 3F-E DE-Smog kit has been a unique challenge in a few key areas / Topics : , The cogged drive belt , EGR Exhaust manifold Plug , Intake Manifold Hole from the long tube itself location going in there . lastly , exactly what all vacuum ports , VSV 's BVSV's etc do u cap off , delete al together and or re-route them ?

- so , like Rick on PAWN STARS , i have called in a Expert , my solid mud buddy @Spook50 , who ...well is the Expert on this topic in my professional and personal opinion and according to the MUD Advance Search archives as well .... :D

- this whole broad brush de-smog topic as a whole , has opened a few special 3F-E pandora parts boxes , that shall soon be a reality via my store offerings , as i needed them to complete the De-Smog step by steps , and or ran into them in the course of doing so as well , such as both the Drive Belt Pullies / Tensioner hardware topics , the Power Steering Pump assy. , and again sticking to ONLY TOYOTA OEM Parts has this far been achieved down to the A/C Drive Belt Tensioner Pulleys unique run down bolt detail , you will see below ....

- a comprehensive Power Steering Idler Pulley / Tensioner Pulley re-build KIT down to the Snap Ring too !

- it's slider block and run down bolt details are unique to the 3F-E and reproducing all of that JIS JDM JAZZ has been the most time consuming parts kit of all this yet ...., like it has been a head scratcher finding a shop to mill and generate a few key components ,...

my valve cover gasket was seeping , and despite the wise-words from one of the 10 wisest men i know , @cruisermatt .....i kept saying , " sure i can pull that air rail with the valve cover still on , sneak-attack it out ,,,,,,,, yea right ! 🤣

.

+ i really had to know the sludge-factor or well lack there of here below ....
.🍻🍻

It just shows that an every 3,000 miles oil & filter change is the word and it speaks here …
