Thinking about buying one of these to aid in backing up and not hitting anything. Anyone point the camera over the rear bumper/swing-outs? What does that look like?

does anyone miss the auto dimming function on the rear view after swapping to the wolfbox?
I sure do. I miss it with my side mirrors

As a heads up - mount adaptors for the Wolfbox G900 are now available! Courtesy of @cbbr shipping me his G900 so I could measure it & perform fitchecks:

I'm also doing a bulk order of the #129 mounts, so in the future folks will be able to order it through me (with the correct adaptor plate!) rather than the slow boat from China.

Interesting product and I see the value. I personally was not a fan after I installed mine. The requirement to refocus your eyes on a different distance was very jarring to me. When you're looking up the road and glance at a rear view mirror, your eyes don't have to change focus depth. You're still looking at a distance equal to the one forward. When you switch to these LED screens, you now have to focus from great distance to 18" in order for your eyes to register what's happening behind you.

For some people this may be fine, but I lasted about a month before I went back to a normal rearview mirror. I just couldn't get used to it.

I feel you. Im just hoping I get used to it. I also hate the fact that we’re disabling the auto dimming side mirrors with the removal of the oem mirror. I also really don't want to deal with fishing the cable through the headliner to put back the old mirror.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already but I recently noticed an ad for the Wolfbox G900. It has a 3rd cam for the bumper which I’d repurpose as a trail cam. I’d always wanted a trail cam for technical terrain and came up empty after looking to relocate the integrated front cam under my bumper. The front cam is attached to the mirror’s circuit board by a ribbon cable and that didn’t seem to be extendable.

Unfortunately the cost of the G900 is a multiple of the older models.

Hey folks - just wanted to drop an update here. My order of #129 mount arms came in, so now you can get your rear camera mount, windshield mount arm (#129) and the adaptor plate all from me - usually things ship out within a day or two.
Go check it out on theartisangarage.com!

That rear camera mount clip is nice

Thanks! It's a convienent solution for sure. The camera (either the 'stock' G930 camera, or the G900/'Upgraded WDR' camera shown) screws into it, although screws aren't shown in that picture (it was a test fit).

thanks brotha, just sent you the cash with all my info
It'll head out the door Monday!

This might’ve been mentioned before…the direct mount is a really fantastic upgrade. Once you play with the mirror position it’ll allow full rotation of both sunvisors.

I installed a G900 Pro today using @LJE kit. The 12” screen is big but both visors swing without obstruction once the screen is angled out of the way (image 1). I had to use a step drill on the #129 arm mount (image 2) to allow the windshield metal clip (image 3) to sit flush and remove any play. I also used an M5-0.80 x 16mm bolt with socket cap to replace the stripped out JIS screw to mount #129 arm mount to the windshield. I used Wolfbox’s hardwire kit and connected the red accessory wire to Cigar 15amp and the B+ constant to Defog 20amp per @terryscott621 post (image 4). The rear camera is mounted at the top of the headliner trim (image 5).

Thanks all!

Hey guys! Couple updates on my kit available over on The Artisan Garage :

#1: I'm now including a replacement screw for the windshield mount arm. This is after a couple people have reported stripping the factory screw, which is really easy to do as you try to back it out of the threaded factory mount arm if the threads don't start correctly. The screw I'm including isn't a 'OEM' screw, rather it's a low-profile M5x15 socket-head cap screw. It's what I have in my truck & it works great. You can of course re-use your factory screw if you retrieve it successfully, but this is a back-up option if you don't!

#2: I also now have a bundle with the Non-Wifi G930 (exact model I have in my truck) available. I was able to get a pretty decent discount buying in bulk, so save some money and grab it all in one place!

A customer grabbed some good pictures when he did an install recently - thanks Nathan!!

I always wondered how people struggled with it so much, until I realized that my mirror mount had already had that screw replaced and the threads in the factory mirror arm drilled out already, hah.
After I stripped it out on someone else's car (even with a JIS driver) because I didn't realize that I needed to get those threads re-started correctly as you try to back the factory screw out of the OEM mount arm, I knew I needed to include a replacement screw in the kits.

EDIT: Just realized the kits were showing as out-of-stock on the site. Fixed that now!
