Wolfbox mirror install direct mount (no strap mount) for 2004 Land Cruiser 100 (1 Viewer)

The head unit is made by Seicane (Chinese, about $425 all in), VERY happy with it but install was nearly blindfolded as there were virtually no instructions. About 6 or 7 emails to china and it now works very well, still sorting out a few lost functions (outside temp, radio signal strength and internet linking), steering wheel controls and sound (after replacing all speakers) is much better than I even suspected. Very interested in a Seicane thread for a 2004+ 100 Series if anyone can provide.
Thanks to all who took a look at my thread.

This is a much older thread.

I received the bracket from ebay and I've had my Wolfbox 930 dashcam/rear view mirror camera installed for a couple weeks now. The #129 ebay bracket is definitely what you need along with the mirror adapter bracket from wolfbox. Everything is working well and the clarity of the rear view camera mirror is excellent (during the day). At night it's harder to make out details, but you can definitely see all headlights and street lights. Overall, this was an excellent upgrade over the OEM mirror with alot of added funationality.

Below is my shopping list and I have approximately $180 plus tax invested so far. Most items bought through Amazon.
1) The mirror itself ( Wolfbox G930) - $100 / Amazon.com - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BRLYT8M1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2) Wolfbox mirror bracket - $20 / Amazon.com - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B53FTB6L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
3) The mirror adapter (#129 from ebay) - $20 / Special Bracket for Rearview Mirror Dash Cam 1234578910# | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/386304687947

Optional Items:
4) Wolfbox Hardwire kit - $20 / Amazon.com - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X9F8GMT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
5) Wolfbox License plate bracket - $20 / Amazon.com - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B91ZTXTJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Just followed your links and ordered this setup. Was the Camera wire length ok? Or did you also purchase the extra length?

Also, how did you run the wires for the camera and where did you hard wire this to?

Yes, the regular wire length was just long enough for how I ran my wires. What I did for the camera wire was run it from the mirror, along the top of the headliner (you can pull the headliner down gently and stuff the wires in there), down along the A-pillar, down the left side of the dash, then along the floor boards (I removed the door sill plastic pieces to hide the wires), then just under the carpet in the rear hatch.

I hard wired everything into the fuse box that's under the dash by where your left foot rests. Look at post #45 in this thread for how I wired it.

Thank you so much for the info! Last question, where did you drill the hole for the camera and what did you use to seal it to prevent water from coming in?

To get the wire to the tailgate (because I used a license plate mount for the camera itself) i drilled a small hole in the floor of the hatch then a small hole out of the rear of the vehicle to run the wire like in the picture. Added some grommets and all has been good so far. This picture is showing the hole I made out of the rear of the vehicle. It's underneath the plastic cover piece that goes between the tailgate and the rear hatch area.

Sorry I don't have a better picture of what I did. I just went out and snapped this real quick. Can't see the top hole unless I pull the carpet up again. But basically there is another hole exactly like the one in the picture directly above this one in the floor of the hatch area. hope that helps.

Thanks!

@terryscott621 the mirror adapter from the link you provided form ebay #129 doesn't show (it stops at #125).
Do you happen to know what the updated # would be?

I'm trying to do a similar setup with a wolfbox 900pro for a 2001 LX 470. Your build is clean :)

It's been mentioned in a few other threads: just type 129 in the comments when placing your order and you'll get it. 👍

If you expand the item description down below the pictures where it says "See Full Description", it gives you a few more pictures of the brackets. I think there must be a picture limit on the top part of the for sale ad and the seller couldn't fit all the picture of all the brackets.

***edit - FYI, I can see the extra pictures of the brackets on my phone when following my directions above, but not when using my desktop computer. Weird. Picture from ebay app on my iPhone below.***

Yes, this is what I did. I put that I wanted bracket #129 in my order notes and I also messaged the seller after payment and gave them my order number and told them what bracket I wanted.

I take it the screw from the OEM mirror was long enough to connect the number 129 bracket to the OEM mount?

12” interferes with the visor?
12 does, but oh well, I'd still rather have it. I just can't push the visor all the way out anymore.

I ordered an open-box G930 (non-wifi) from Wolfbox directly on Ebay for $60, spent $20 on the #129 mount, and $40 or so on the upgraded rear camera. I forgot to grab the adaptor to be able to use the mount on the G930, so I designed & 3D printed one out of ABS!
Way faster than waiting on one to ship...

I've had it installed for a few days now, and have been enjoying it. Right now I've just got the upgraded camera mounted on the *inside* on the rear glass, but will eventually move it outside.

I went with the G850 Pro, and the direct mount provided by Wolfbox was a fit for my 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser. Initially I ordered the mount from China through eBay, thinking I needed it, but came to find out the one I bought with my mirror (which I purchased thinking I'd just need it for the mounting plate) was actually the one I needed. At some point early, Toyota changed the window mirror mount pattern, thus leaving you to need to order the #129 mounting arm. Anyway, I made a quick video of how easy my install was. Enjoy. Thanks.

Just curious if you had any feedback on the driver assistance features of the g850. The blind spot monitoring it what I'm really interested in. The from collsion warning is also welcomed. I'm just curious how well they work if at all.

I disabled those features, another nice feature in and of itself, because I can customize settings nicely, but for the short time I tried those features they worked pretty well. The company customer service is amazing through email. this is a lifelong must have mirror that will forever be in every vehicle I own from now on. yes, I like it that much.

I spent 120 on the G850 openbox from Amazon. 20 on the #129 bracket from ebay, and 10 bucks for the backplate from Aliexpress. I stripped the hell out of the screw that holds the OEM mirror on by using regular philips screwdrivers. I read that we have the JIS philips screwdriver included in the roll up tool kit on our trucks, and that worked perfectly to remove the screw. I'm ready to install it now, I'm just wondering what the best mounting location would be for the rear camera. I'm mainly using it for a digital rearview, so being low to the ground isn't a priority. I'm debating if I should mount it higher up or toward the lower part of the rear window. Anyone mount the camera on the outside lower tailgate, near the license plate? Just wondering what others have done before I take the plunge.

I mounted mine on top of my license plate. It worked perfectly for me.
