Who wants Sliding Side Windows?

I am having sets of these made. Project is on a temporary hold because I have all of my money wrapped up in two other cruiser products at the moment. Im guessing im 3-4 months out to bringing a product that is a duplicate of factory dual sliding windows. Manufacturer has original oem sliding window to use as template. If we had enough guys on here to pre order we could have it done sooner but for now we are gonna have to be a little patient.

Mike - thanks for taking on this project. How many folks do you need to pre-order so the project could move forward? I need two sets of windows for a troopy project and would jump in if ETA was reasonable. I was going to order SORs sliders and modify my window openings, but your solution sounds like it might be a better one.

I would need 40 sets sold to make it happen at this point. A set of two windows is estimated at around $300. I am certain they wont be any more than that if we can get a minimum order. I personally wont be able to front the capital for this project until I finish some other projects. I will not finish my other projects for another month or two. Then I can begin this.

Beginning this involves two time phases. After I can pay the glass manufacturer, (1)They will open new moulds for the framework, and glass. They will need 2-3 weeks to have a sample together for me to aprove. If everything looks good. (2)They can produce the production load in aprox 45 days. Then we can distiribute.

Yes, if there were 40 sets of windows pre-ordered we could begin now. This cost is well over a hundred dollars less than the other only option available. As opposed to what is available now these will be DUAL sliders like the original oem windows. They will not be tinted(up to the customer if they want that). I have given the Widow Manufacturer an original oem sliding window to use as a template as well as a hard top panel, so they will make it very close to oem.

So Speak up if you are willing to Prepay based off of this Information and I will start making a list. Otherwise, I will have to wait a few months before I can begin. Thanks!

To Clarify......

These will not require the reuse of anything.....except your Hardtop. They will be a complete new unit inclusive of everything such as window frame, weather stripping, glass, latches, etc. What ever weather stripping needed for these will become available.

I'd be interested in a set for my '76 as well. What is the latest on ETA given your other projects? If it helps get you over the 40 set threshold, put me down for 3 sets and I will keep a spare set and sell the other at some point. All clear glass preferred.
