Who wants Sliding Side Windows?

I'm down like a dog on a rainy day.

Are you still looking for dimensions?

I think we are ok for dimensions on our standard fj40. But if you have a bj, hj or troopy, It would be nice to compare what we have to it. you can see this picture of a troopy with the widow out. What we need to know is if it is the same opening as an fj40.

At the $250 price point I'd be in. Screens would be a plus, but I can deal without. A removable screen option would probably be best, those who want screens can order the add-on screen.

I agree clear glass, let's each individual tint to their wishes.

Folkert has his out and will be taking some measurements for the 44/47 size windows. Not sure if they are the same or not but if so I'm pretty psyched!

Hey guys...Im glad there is still interest. Im looking at having only 100 made to start(50 right, 50 left). Not a super high number but enough for a small production run. Prototype is estimated about 3-4 weeks out. Once the sample is approved by me, Production is around 6-8 weeks. So that is our projected timeline.

I dont want any money from anyone yet but I would like to start taking orders as soon as we have an approved sample. That will help me know if 50 vehicles worth of Sliding windows is right for our first run.

Cost is still estimated between $250-$300 for a pair of windows(right and left). Please continue to comment on your interest.

as for the troopy it looks like both of its windows are the same size is that correct .the parts catalog lists them sharing the same weather strip for both windows 1 and 2

Thanks for posting up the cool diagrams!

I am certainly in for one set. I also hope a screen option will be incorporated?

I can see why you would want a screen but the way that these function it would be hard. Originals did not have a screen. I May be able to make an add-on screen accesory for them later after we get passed just making these available.

Thanks for the input man!

I will measure, but I wont be at the workshop for the following days
might take up a week, but the EPC data looks promising..

Although one minor thing: the data is all for 1979+ vehicles, so I can imagine Toyota made only one size frame for those years..
What we have to keep in mind is that the earlier trucks probably had a different size window...

so maybe we have to think about producing 2 sizes, before 1979 and after 1979 model... dunno how big the market is for newer size windows...
might be interesting to have a poll and see how many 1979+ cruiser owners would like to have sliding windows vs the older types.

Can't comment on 44s... But I've personally put a 74 side window into earlier(71/72 that had earlier style seals) and also later(81) model 40 hardtop sides (after removing cross bar). I've yet to see different sized window openings. (but that doesnt mean they don't exist)

i'm with bikersmurf pretty sure the window holes are the same size.
the only reason for no early years in the EPC is because there was no slide offered in the early years

Rad! This is what we are all hopeing for. If anyone has conflicting information please let us know. We want to be able to have one size that fits as many years as possible.

No screen= no problem. I would like them either way.
