Any unsused switch on the dash - or unused switch position - can be a "kill" switch. Brake and steering wheel locks can slow thieves down unless you're leaving the vehicle parked long term.
Good point
the more time they waste the better for my BJ40:)

pull the coil wire easy and quick
Grinse, its a Diesel.... but see your point
wouldn't work as my wife has some other opinion about driving away lol

I reach under and pull the ignition fuse … not all years have it… some have engine … early doesn’t have either

I don’t even pull it all the way … just yank one side :meh:
Ahhhh, this is a good one
as my fuse holder is covered by a little music box under the dashboard

On my HJ47 I had a kill switch to the EDIC motor (given I obviously had no coil). You could do the same on your BJ40.
That way it'll crank but not start. My thinking is that if it cranks without starting they may think it's just an old car they can't get to start. Whereas if the starter doesn't even engage then they'll be looking for a kill switch. There's also the advantage that it will make a lot of noise cranking and attract attention.

If I'm parking somewhere I'm concerned, I yank the fuse for the engine computer.
It'll crank, but won't start.

I use this battery cut off switch…with a padlock on my 40 and my 60.

It’s not fool proof but it’s better than not having it.🎯

GPS tracker is bulletproof if the battery is good. They are magnetic and you can put them anywhere .
If ya guts to track it, that means it's already gone 🧐🤔😉. Reactive as opposed to Proactive 🧐🤔😉. Don't make sense

In the big city around here they break into cars looking for weapons.

I have read numerous suggestions so far in this thread. Some are sensible, a few are impractical, and some are just stupid (key in the ignition/loaded handgun in the cab) 😣 but so far no mention of a garden variety car alarm. The louder, the better. Your insurance carrier may offer a rate discount if you have one. They may even have a recommendation.

mmm, that is a good explanation
I like this thought

Going to dive into this also, thx :)

Extra fan switch in dash. Middle position kills coil. GPS detector if they tow it.
Also nice idea, this fan switch in the middel :)
