Then went to work on the old hangers on the 40...
What a BIT*H! F*CKING RIVETS! Started on the placement of the new ruff stuff hangers and found they were for 40 springs and not 60 springs. My day ended there.:frown:

Mounted new tow hooks, D-ring tabs, D-ring shackles and an old miniature
surfboard I made out of maple and mahogany. I sanded and refinished the
surfboard as it had been on my previous '94 Toyota truck and had weathered
a bit. I hit the bumper real quick with a wire wheel and painted it using Rust
Reformer. I didn't top coat it as that will come this winter when I do the rest of the frame.

I have not driven, let alone wrenched on my Landcruiser since December :censor:. But I have been spending money like on parts like a drunken sailor, gotta love the internet. I will now have plenty to do when I get home :D.

Rolled the 40 out of the garage, swapped in a newer fuel tank, put in some fresh gas, and started the truck for the first time in over a year!

Gotta love a motor that flashes up instantly after sitting for a year:D

Still to do: install aux tank, rear main seal, install freshly painted oil pan, re-pack front bearings, install Asian hubs, rebuild hardtop sides, build front fenders, rattle can to make one color.....

I otta have the rest done in a few years:doh:

I think it's time to wheel :steer: some!

Drove the car I'm pulling a motor out of for my '63 (a freshly built poncho from my trans am) which proceeded to consistantly kick the tail out on the 1-2 shift and run like a banshee, then pulled the smoked 307 small block from the '63 and the poncho from the trans am. Now cleaning the poncho and cleaning the '63's firewall up and repainting the front frame section.

finally made seat brackets and painted the cage!

I got excited this week when I got to shoot paint. After a year of touching every bolt, seal and bearing, it was nice to be able to start re-assembly. I was able to immediately put the body on the day I brought it home from the paint booth.

Now I just hope money can keep up with my excitement and I can get it driveable in short-order.

NikP... great colour! What is it?

Fixed the passenger side wiper arm that has had a mind of its own.

Gotta take the shop-vac to it tomorrow and clean out all the loose nuts, bolts, metal shavings, etc, etc, etc

Yeah, it looks almost as bad as mine did :D

Edit: Oh yeah, I did nothing but drive it once and stare at the turbo lying on my desk ..

Cool shots ant FJ. Makes you want to raise a toast to good times.
