What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

My wife let me bring our son home in our 60 series, but put her foot down when I tried to propose our land cruisers as family cars. She wanted the airbags and safety features. This is awesome
There were no air bags when my Boys were little and the 40 was our only car until we got a Celica.

My wife was going to let me Take Margot home from the hospital in the 55 but I didn't get my rocker and floor pan project done in time. I am lucky she likes these old cars and lets me wrench on them.

Brought my 1 day old son home from the hospital strapped to the jumpseat of my 76 FJ40 in '97. People whined it was unsafe but he grew up fine going everywhere back there. Even learned to drive a stick shift on the trail in it. He turned 29 last week and will inherit the 40 when his stingy dad is to old to drive it. 😃

This is just as cool in my opinion! Well worn cruisers look just as good as restored ones and I'm digging the patina. If you're keen I'd love to be able to ask you questions as we never got the 2H in the US and I'm not sure this was put back together correctly.
Yeah I love it thanks, no plans to change the body and paint too much. 2H very popular in Aus, parts getting harder, but lots of old motors around fairly cheap. They are a very straightforward engine and I’m not an expert but I might be able to help with any questions.

Your friends equivalent decal would be “Jeep, like a Landcruiser but for women”
That doesn’t seam fair… I wouldn’t wish one on anyone… even my worst enemy.

I can’t help it if my worst enemy went out and bought one… I didn’t wish it on him, but he so deserves it.

The A-hole deserves every bit of it.

Why do I hate him so?

One early morning (or late night) my younger dog asked to go out in the yard about 1:30 am. So I opened the door and could hear voices outside (in the back yard). Well, since it never happened before or since, she barked once. Hhe shouts out, “if she barks outside again I’ll shoot her!

In case I’m not being clear, someone in his yard was talking loudly directly behind our back fence in his yard, at 1:30 am. She, being a Large Guardian breed, alerted the potential intruder that she was there. He subsequently threatened to shoot her because she barked once at a perceived threat just outside her yard. Although he adamantly denied yelling it (even though I had witnesses who had also heard) when the police arrived at his home at about 2:30 am.

The “neighbor” later claimed he had video footage of the incident, The only way that would be possible was if he deliberately set her up. If you search his name in google, you’ll readily find that he and a couple of his friends were charged for swindling friends, family, and seniors out of hundreds of thousands of dollar. His “friends” were convicted and went to jail… he, on the other hand, was next in the news paper for being a Witness for the Prosecution.

I hope he gets everything he deserves. If there’s a next time, the motion and sound activated security cameras we’ve since added around our house should capture it, and we’ll push for him to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Rant over… Sorry. It has been a rough couple weeks.

If I ever see him in a burning building I’ll run right over…. to throw some gas on the fire. Aren’t these red plastic containers with yellow spouts filled with water… ;)

I like that rear step idea. Any pics of how you mounted it?? Difficulty level?

Also, does it hold up and if so any pics of it folded up?

I dont have any pics right now but I will get some in the next and post a thread on adding the step specifically. It is not "hard" however it required a flux core welder and a lot of fitting. I started by clamping the step, in the closed position, to where I wanted it under the rear frame member. I then bolted a plate to the frame behind the rear wheel arch and then welded up the mount from there. Here is the hyperlink for the step: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4VW889J?tag=ihco-20

You makes your monthly car payment one way or another. Sure, my last exhaust cost me 200 bucks. That was 20 years ago or so, I forget exactly. This guy did a good job, he's got a good reputation, I opted for the fancy Borla muffler, it's a local one-man shop that I don't mind supporting. I was expecting it to cost more. I don't got a frowny face, I'm all smiles.

It does appear to be well done. I had mine done last year I think it was about 400 but, I didnt go w a high quality muffler. As you said, cant go wrong supporting local biz.👍

Everything more expensive lately; and, up here in the hills, we can't be real picky.
