What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Would love to have the warehouse support that you do. I have worked around the parts wait by having 1.75-2.0 vehicles to work on. When asked how long something takes the only appropriate response is “depends”.
I've been working on a truck for a customer since May because I keep finding stuff it needs and have to wait a week for everything...

50 yrs of neglect takes awhile to get right.

Works like a champ!!
Looks like a pneumatic hood prop (strut). Albeit, not in the usual position(s). Unique application.

OP didn’t respond but, from the visual, that’s what it looks like.

I bought this from the boys down under, Mr. Landcruiser in New South Wales. I believe another company around Melbourne actually manufactured it.

I found it, thanks. Price is OK, but the damn tariffs will probably kill me. In case anyone else is interested, here are the links I found:

LCS Bonnet Strut Kit for 40 Series Landcruiser - https://mrlandcruiser.com/products/lcs-bonnet-strut-kit-for-40-series-landcruiser?variant=50113914208570 but they're out of stock. And this one that appears to be the manufacturer, but is more expensive and don't seem to have a LHD version.

I bought a pair of those but don't have a hood yet.

Remember, you'll need to specify left or right hand drive! And the $180 is Australian $$, about $118 US.

I’m a fan 👍🏻. Really happy with them.

Although, the single piston version (Mr Landcruiser-OZ) looks to be a good solution too.

Splain dis. It looks interesting.

If you are just a little bit handy you can DIY this for about $30 from McMaster-Carr. They even have the parts to do a remote latch set-up.

Intriguing minds want to know how it's attached.... here you go.

I was heading that direction but saw the other so figured I'd try it .

Good call on the mono-strut. 🥇 I watched the installation vid. Even looked easy enough for me to install.
