I understand that. Sometimes your time is preciousThought bout it! Too many honey do's plus the price of angle iron I figured this was money well spent having everything cut.

I bought the same tool and yeah it's smaller than I thought (that's what she said) but worked like a champ when I adjusted mine Saturday .I got into the brake situation that I created last week. Man, leaky drum brakes are messy! I ordered 2 new wheel cylinders from @cruiseroutfit and the nifty OEM brake adjuster tool from @Racer65.

That tool is smaller than I thought it would be, but it makes adjusting those things easier. Some observations about the new parts: the yellow colored end of the wheel cylinder that has the adjuster was much narrower than the oem cylinder and does not have the "ramp" that is discussed many times on MUD. I had to use a file on the brake shoe's thick end and a little on the wheel cylinder to get the shoes to insert. Also, I am sure I ordered the correct part, Right Hand for Passenger side, front and rear but they adjust in the opposite direction. I had to loosen the old OEM cylinders by spinning the adjusters towards the axle on both sides. On the new ones I had to tighten/expand the cylinder by spinning the adjuster towards the axle. Overall, this is not my first set of aftermarket wheel cylinders, and they are better than the last set. This is just one OE part I wish was still available. I've save my originals for a rebuild one-of-these-days. But, I drove it to work today so I am happy. Ya'll have a great week!
Amazing how many little jobs you can get done during "parental leave"Took my 6 week old mechanic apprentice for her first ride in the family 40
Also installed cupholders which are great
Even still front drums! Call my crazy but I like the look of the early hubs.Got some new tires!

The wheels are still the same ones that I sold Tony THIRTY YEARS AGO! A lot of little chips and scrapes. But a few hours of detailing with some polishing compound and a stiple brush and they’re definitely 10 footers!View attachment 3940221
I may do something like that since I am not going to install AC with half doors. The Wife is not happy about the low tech cooling. The higher elevations in Wyoming it wont be necessary.I installed an ebay plastic tailgate ($88) a few weeks ago in lieu of taking top off this year. Looks great and is very functional for mounting licanse plate and keeping stuff from flying out (such as my backpack during summer school in 95’ lol).
VERY cheaply made though and worry kids are going to rip it off every time they hop in and out. View attachment 3940125
It's surprising how effective the low tech cooling is.I may do something like that since I am not going to install AC with half doors. The Wife is not happy about the low tech cooling. The higher elevations in Wyoming it wont be necessary.

Tell her to open her flaps on the highway at 60mph, things might get a bit hairy, but hey you'll cool down fast.
It was not built with AC and it is 47 years old so why do it now and I am running out of room with the R2.8 under the hood and I am not done. I tried a bikini top but put the snaps in the wrong place on the windshield frame and the wind would pop them off and the straps kept it from completely coming off. It's surprising how effective the low tech cooling is.

I think I am going to install those rings in the dash. Can you please take a close up pic so I can see where I need to drill holes? Mine doesn’t have a divot or anything.
